"Ideal base for a few days hiking, particularly in the area of Thirlmere & Helvellyn from Swirls. We weren’t in the hotel too much due to hiking, but more than adequate after a tiring day in the fells. "I had an enjoyable stay at the 'Patterdale Hotel' as it allowed me to get warm and dry when the conditions outside were atrocious, so bad we all lost TV reception but this was no fault of the hotel.
