"The staff at this hotel were excellent. When we checked in quite late the checkin staff were lovely and helpful. We booked for a second night however our room type was not available so were offered an 1140am checkout as the second nights room would not be ready until later in the day. We received a phone ca next morning saying we could stay in our room for another Night and moving was not required. Touched like this make a stay so very enjoyable and hassle free. Check out staff excellent also. Highly recommend this hour if staying in Dunedin. "

"We stayed at Scenic Southern Cross as part of a larger trip of New Zealand. The hotel was convenient to the central city and not far from the Octagon. The room was very comfortable and quiet although the view from room was a parking lot. We found parking on the street right across from the hotel for our overnight stay. The staff was great. We visited the Casino which was a good sized venue but did not gamble. We closed out our night on the town with a nightcap at the hotel bar watching rugby with some other hotel guests. Very good stay in Dunedin. "

"When we booked this property did not realize it was a self serve style with no check in or concierge staff, unless you messaged or called them. The property was spotless, room was beautiful and comfortable. Instructions provided via email were clear though one had to read the details. The welcome manual was also useful (read this and found the utensils). We will recommend this property to others for sure."

"This was our 3rd stay at the property and it was wonderful as always. Immaculately clean, Super comfortable bed Good pressure in the shower Great location. Different to Our previous stays we had our 4month old child with us. A portacot was available and made up with adorable bedding. We will definitely be back for a 4th stay in the future "
