"Our stay in Amarela Resort turned out to be one of the highlights of our visit to Bohol. The whole place is ART. The attention to detail was astounding! The staff were all warm, friendly, and helpful. If you ever plan to stay in Amarela resort, please take the time to walk the grounds -- they have an art gallery, beautiful walkways, a library, a massage hut, a garden, an infinity pool, a magnificent view of the sunrise, etc. The surrounding area is peaceful. "The hotel is set in a really great location. A few minutes walk from Terminal 3 arrivals and departures. Out the back door is a large shopping neighbpurhood, great for supermsrket or restaurant food and other items. The only downside was the staff handing out pamphlets or leaflets for advertising and marketing at the entrance and exit to the lifts. I don't know why the hotel needs to have people giving out spam and bothering the guests at that location. It's completely unnecessary. They would ask the same question every time a guest walked past, so you would have to say no to them multiple times a day. If I stay at a hotel, I do not want to be handed pamphlets like I would be on the street somewhere. It's very tacky."

"Overall, this property is great, it’s very clean very well maintained. There is a lot of staff so that means the staff to guest ratio is really good, the staff is always friendly happy and upbeat, the location is pretty convenient, I like the beach and I like the amenities. This is the fourth Shangri-La property that I have stayed at and so far every single one has either met or exceeded my expectations. Good brand and I wish they had locations in the us"

"Overall a nice resort. Lots of dinning options, although the times somethings were closed or open was a bit random and inconvenient. It was strange that coffee couldn’t be delivered to the room at such a fancy and expensive resort. Other than that, it was very nice."

"We enjoyed our stay , the only thing is that the gym is too small for such a big hotel. One of the treadmills were broken as well. We had the best cleaning lady for our room during our entire stay, her name is Jenilyn Diez, she was also my daughter’s cleaning lady. She’s so polite and helpful. Very attentive to our requests as well. Will recommend your hotel and hope to stay there again on our next vacation to the Philippines!"

"Check in took several. Our rooms were not ready until 4 hours later. Wasted our time and ruined some of our plans that day. However, they offered us drink vouchers and late check out to our satisfaction. Eunard handled our check in and issues and was very professional. He did a great job and tried his best to get as in our room asap. We had 2 Seaview rooms and the rooms were nice. Although, the bathroom needs a little bit more thorough cleaning to include the walls (1504). One of the rooms (1506) had some flying bugs as we entered and had to start killing them. 1506 has some molds in the bathroom. Breakfast was one of the best we had on this family vacation. Overall, the hotel is very nice. The staff were very professional and courteous. I highly recommend this hotel to people who likes a luxurious hotel stay. Note: You need to make a far u-turn to get to the hotel if you're coming from the airport or the Cebu City side. That part is kind of annoying."
