Frequently asked questions

When is the best time to go to Darkes Forest?
The best time to go to Darkes Forest is during spring (September to November) and autumn (March to May) for pleasant weather and outdoor activities.

During spring, the weather is mild with average temperatures ranging from 15°C to 25°C, making it ideal for exploring the natural surroundings. The local flora is in full bloom, adding to the scenery, and it's a good time for bushwalking and enjoying the local wildlife. This period is particularly good for families looking to spend time outdoors without the intense heat of summer.

Autumn also offers comfortable temperatures, typically between 12°C and 22°C, and generally less rainfall than the summer months. The changing colours of the leaves in the eucalypt forests provide a lovely backdrop for walks and drives. It's a great time for couples seeking a peaceful retreat, perhaps enjoying a quiet picnic or a leisurely stroll through the scenic trails.

While summer (December to February) can be warm, with temperatures sometimes exceeding 30°C, it's still a popular time for those who enjoy warmer weather, especially for activities around the nearby beaches.
