We enjoyed lively conversations with both the team and fellow guests in the restaurant, swapping travel tips and stories. It felt like being part of a community rather than just another hotel stay. "The Empire Hotel Queenstown oozes character and charm. Our room was simple but clean with lovely linen and the beds were very comfortable. Our check in at the front bar was easy and the staff were very friendly. Pub food was nicely done and it was a fantastic location straight across the road from the Wilderness Railway station in Queenstown. Lovely old town with friendly locals."

"We had a wonderful stay here. The place felt very homey, peaceful, and relaxing—exactly what we were looking for. It truly felt like a little escape. The views were amazing, and seeing the animals roaming around outside made the experience even more special. The donkeys, horse, and Highland cattle were all so friendly. My daughter especially loved patting River, one of the donkeys. We honestly wished we could have stayed longer to fully enjoy the views and the property. We would absolutely recommend this accommodation to friends and family. It’s an amazing place to unwind and reconnect with nature. "
