A little piece of heaven
Very nice hosts who did everything to overcome some of the problems we had. Clean and comfy. Lots of room for our dog to run. Pity about the weather but we were snug as a bug with the pellet burner. Overall we had a relaxing time.

A very enjoyable stay
We have just returned from a week staying in this lovely gite called La Maison de Clemence. It was superbly well appointed, clean and comfortable. Our host Thibauld was always available but never intrusive. We were blessed with mild weather in February (there was nothing but sunshine all week) that we never could have hoped for when making our booking which made our visits to surrounding places all the more enjoyable. The mornings and evenings were chilly, of course but the heating available in the house was more than adequate, especially the wood burner. There is a lovely garden and a pond just across the way. The WiFi was good quality. I can recommend this gite as a place to relax amongst calm and tranquil surroundings with lots of bird song. I saw a very small bird just outside our window hopping though the hedge with a red stripe on it’s head and I am still trying to find out what it was. My French was not good enough to ask Thibauld! All in all, we had a very nice week. We liked Dieppe which has a wonderful promenade and Honfleur. We wanted to visit the Cathedral at Rouen but, when we got there it was closed for restoration. Next time!

Could have been better
We were lucky to get this property for a couple of days, when it appears that it is usually booked by the week. However, despite being in a lovely setting, we didn't feel welcomed to explore the grounds of the main property, and the gite itself was comfortable if basic. The location is convenient for easy access to a wide range of opportunities = pergaps we need to book again for a longer stay to really appreciate the benefits.

Great location
The quiet, and the surroundings of this property are great. The house was comfortable enough and recently refurbished, with nice views over the grounds of the castle. Some small extra items would have been useful to us, but nothing essential (bin liners, a bath mat and a couple of extra pillows). Also, just a personal preference but for short rentals we do prefer properties that give you a price all included and do not charge extra for linen, wood, or according to electricity consumption. To be fair this is clearly explained in the overview of the property and the owner also kindly reminded us of how his rental works before our arrival date. So enjoyable stay overall!

Great!
A lovely cottage with modern amenities in the shadow of a pretty chateau with beautiful grounds. The surrounding area is calm and peaceful with most sound coming from birdsong. Lots of different varieties of birds to see and the resident ducks make frequent fly pasts. There are two supermarkets in nearby Bosc le Hard and some good cafes and restaurants in St Saëns. Le Relais Normand is good with a €14.50 deal for 2 courses but go down the rue Gal de Gaulle to the Fontenoy bar and you get a three course lunch for €12.95. The locals eat here and the food is very good. The gite is just over an hours drive to Rouen and just under an hour to Dieppe which has some interesting shops. Do try the local heart shaped cheese but go to Lidl where it is much cheaper. Thanks to our friendly hosts for a lovely stay.

Peace and Tranquility
Located less than hour from Dieppe the property is reached down a single country track, set in the mature manicured grounds of an imposing mansion. It is 2kms. from Bosc-Le-Hard where the nearest Carrefour Market is situated. Approximately 10 minutes from the major road networks (which appeared almost deserted when compared to the UK) the property is ideally situated for exploring Normandy. Amiens, Rouen and Fecamp are within an hours driving distance, whilst The Somme battlefields are approximately an hour and a half away. M. De Beaunay was an excellent host, extremely welcoming and offered detailed information regarding the property and our stay. Would definitely recommend this property highly and will certainly been returning in the future. A note for travellers who haven't used the Newhaven - Dieppe crossing route before. It is not the same as the 'roll-on' 'roll-off' operation at Dover. A conservative estimate would be to add an extra 2 hours on arrival at the port each side to book in, queue up, get through Customs and embark/disembark.

Excellent!
My Wife and I rented this home for approximately 3 weeks. It is an extremely comfortable home with a very well equipped kitchen, a lovely private garden for drinks at the end of the day and a pellet stove for cosy evenings. The grounds are enchanting and the location is excellent with two supermarkets nearby and daily markets in the surrounding towns as well as restaurants etc. We explored Etretat, Fecamp, Dieppe, Lyon la Foret, Vernon, Rouen, all of which were within 30 minutes to an hour's drive give or take. The Owners are a very nice family who will give you the utmost privacy but are available immediately in the event of a problem or question. We would not hesitate to recommend this property very highly!
