"Nice old house with lots of character. In room 104 the bathroom door is short, and as a tall person, I hit my head a few times. The staff is very helpful. The night guy and cleaning lady don't speak English so it's a good opportunity to practice your Spanish. When I stayed there, I didn't see many other guests, so I did not experience meeting other international travelers and enjoying the camaraderie in a common area that some hostels have. "Sandmelis Hotel is a good value hotel. It is clean, has a great staff, and serves a great breakfast. It’s not fancy, but has all you need for a comfortable stay. Security is good. It is about an 8 minute walk to the new metro which will take you to the middle of the Historic center. One suggestion would be to add rubber mats in the bathrooms as the tile is very slippery and dangerous when wet. "
