The location was perfect for morning strolls. The square around the hotel gets very busy during the day, but night and morning slowed down quite a bit. Very nice to get up and wander in the morning without the crowds.

INCREDIBLE home located in Bourton-on-the-water that truly feels like your home away from home. It was very well equipped, super clean, cozy and comfortable. Their attention to detail sets them apart from all other housing options. Definitely recommend!

Although the price/cost is the same as other hotels, there is no personnel/place in hotel to check you in. You simply need to open a locked cabin to get keys for the room. The bedrooms are tight, the bathrooms very, very small. They also aren’t very clean.

Great Stay & Things You Might Not Know
As other reviews say this hotel is ideally located in the centre of the village with most rooms, including ours, overlooking the river. Ours (Sterling) was spacious and well appointed with a large bathroom & a large comfortable bed. What other reviews might not tell you is; * There is a chip shop on the ground floor * all breakfasts are delivered to your room at half hour slots of your choice. * There are no staff at the hotel (keys access from key safes) * Bourton can get extremely busy ,especially on sunny weekends ,and you almost certainly wont be able to park close to the hotel However none of this is really a problem (though we had to ring the contact as our key safe number hadn't been emailed to us). The chip shop doesn't stay open late & doesn't smell. The breakfasts were always delivered on time & were delicious. There's a pay car park just on the edge of the village about 10 minutes walk away. The crowds go home in the evening!

Really nice and easy place to stay. Beautiful and clean. Only thing was the main spotlights in the bedroom only had 1 working and there was no bath mat and only 2 towels so would have liked more.

Prior to writing this review I have given the hotel 3 opportunities to respond to me privately. The location, the view, the room, the breakfast can’t be faulted. All outstanding. However the mattress in the Euro suite is broken. When laying on it you sink right to the base. Very unpleasant night. Ruined what would otherwise have been a perfect stay.

Great location. It was a bit hot on our day, so that made me enjoy the roll less (no air). The fan was helpful, and the TV was a nice touch. Breakfast was good. It was also a bit difficult having no one to talk to about parking, etc. the restaurant workers didn’t seem familiar with the hotel process. Otherwise - fabulous view.

No car park. No staff on hand for any questions or help. Tables to small to comfortable eat breakfast. Would have like to use the dinning area. Breakfast was delicious and we got fruit and yogurt which to fair was not on the menu . No saucers for the very small cups. Tea and coffee was not very pleasant, but the pint of milk in the fridge was a nice touch.

Great boutique hotel
The hotel is lovely, the Euro room is spacious and really nicely appointed with everything you could want for an overnight stay. The bed is super comfortable with lovely linen, good quality tea & coffee is provided, dressing gowns and a mini fridge. The bathroom is amazing, roll top bath, huge shower and double sinks. The view is great over the village and lovely to sit and enjoy your super breakfast in the morning.

Great location with river views, really nice decor in the room. Great shower as well. Unfortunately the room wasn't clean (lots of spider webs and spiders) and there was a very cold draught from the window. It was also very noisy as the windows are not double glazed, and there were loud noises from the shop next door at 6am that woke us up

Put a dampener on our night away...
Lovely setting, beautiful bathroom and nicely decorated. TV was stuck on demo mode, so couldn't watch TV properly (not a huge issue). Most disappointing was a soaking wet bed due to the leaking roof (a crack in the ceiling with water damage markings). After a long day we climbed into bed to discover the pillows, duvet, sheet and mattress was soaking wet - too wet to ignore or sleep on. We called the 24 hour number and a very helpful man arrived to get us new pillow cases and duvet cover, which helped. I must stress, the man was incredibly polite, understanding and attentive, especially given that we called around 9pm on a Saturday. We were told that this would be reported to the owners and we we could discuss our experience with them. It's very disappointing that we have not been contacted since, despite our attempts to contact them and raise the issue via email. It's understandable that these things happen from time to time, but the affected bedding showed signs of water damage (brown marks) indicating the issue had been there a while. £195 is a decent price tag for one night (18 hours if you go from allotted check in/out times). I wouldn't expect such a disruptive issue for that premium.

Great breakfast
Very nice rooms and the breakfast was brilliant. Our room called "Yen" was their smallest and a bit tight but it was still very comfortable. The other rooms were all clearly much larger so doesn't have to be an issue and I'd happily stay there again.

Great room in lovely location. Breakfast was a little disappointing, they only deliver to your room and it had cooled down by time we received it. No parking on site but they did provide helpful information on public paid parking.

Tiny, tiny, tiny room. Not as described!
Tiny tiny room, not advertised correctly! We booked an 'Ensuite Double Room' through Hotels.com. Looking at the photos on there and on the website for Old Bank Rooms, they looked nice, big, clean and tidy. Whilst our room was clean, it was a tiny, box of a room. You had to walk sideways around the bed to fit. There was nowhere to put cases and clothes, I could just about fit in the shower! The accommodation is above a chip shop, whilst you couldn't smell anything in the room, as soon as you went into the hallway you could smell chip fat. The one positive was that the room was clean and tidy. We only found out the day before we arrived that we were being placed in a tiny room. Not the ones advertised on Hotels.com through pictures and description etc. In the email the venue sent the day before check in, they even elude to the room only being suitable for one person. Breakfast is included in the booking but there is literally nowhere in the room to eat it. I don't know where they expect visitors to eat the breakfast!!! We were completely cheated. Make sure you know which room you are booking when booking through Hotels.com!!!

Nice rooms, shame about the noise.
Room was lovely, very nicely decorated & really comfortable bed. Breakfast was served in your room & it was very good but it was awkward to eat as you only had little low tables. Unfortunately we had a noise issue to do with the heating system & it kept us awake quite a lot! Also every morning at 6am they turned up to work at the Chip Shed underneath (where your breakfast also comes from) & there was quite a lot of noise from that & the Londis shop two doors down also received deliveries at that time.

When we checked in our room had not been serviced. This was quickly resolved by the owner, we were seated in the fish and chip shop downstairs and well looked after with complimentary drink and food. The room was ready in an hour and very clean and tidy. Very comfortable bed and soft pillows. Downside is no parking onsite. Tea bags should be labelled as had no idea which was herbal and which was normal.

Great location, some downsides... Positives: The location of the Old Bank Rooms cannot be beat. It is right in the center of the village with a lovely view of the water. We stayed in the Euro Suite which was delightful. The breakfast was delivered on time and very tasty. Negatives: The fact that you have to find a parking space off site and carry your luggage up two flights of stairs was a bit challenging because this was one night in a longer trip so we had heavy bags. We knew that in advance and chose to leave most of our luggage in the car but that is definitely an inconvenience. I agree with many of the previous comments that there should be a table in each room at which you can eat breakfast. It is not comfortable to balance your food on a bedside table or tiny side table.. I have twice e-mailed the property manager and never received a response. I called him with an issue on the day of our stay and only got an answer after several tries. I think if there is no staff on site then the response time for emails needs to be fast and reliable. Fortunately it was not a critical issue but if it had been we would have been sunk. For that reason alone I would hesitate to recommend this property to others even though we enjoyed our stay.

Bourton on the water is beautiful place The old bank faces the river , we stayed in the room called Dollar which looks over the river The room was beautiful with a luxury bathroom The breakfast delivered to our door the next morning was delicious

The hotel room was really luxurious and my partner and I loved visiting Bourton-on-the-Water. The hotel was right in the centre of the village and the check-in instructions were clear. Very comfortable bed and we loved the bathroom. I sent an email shortly after check-in with a question, which was replied to quickly. We'll certainly be back again.

No parking on site but great location.
Surface Car Park about 5 minutes walk, can pay by phone and was free between 6pm and 8am. Hotel in the middle of town and although above a Chip Shop there was no smell. Room really clean and serviced daily. We were in the rear room (Rupee) so very little noise. Bourton is a great base with plenty of places to eat and drink and ideal for exploring further, either on foot or by car. There is no reception on site but we didn’t need to contact them during our stay. Breakfast is served in the room.

Lovely room - well equipped and very clean - we had the smallest suite available (Yen) but it was fine for two of us - the shower is very small but they do warn you about that beforehand so we were prepared. Included breakfast was very good. Everything was contact free - from check-in to check-out - and all well executed.
