"below average rooms are ultra tiny even for NYC standards!"

"After opening the door, we saw the bed was 3 feet from it. We can deal with a smaller room in NY, layout and bathroom were okay. After unpacking and then dinner, noted the tv would not change channels. Tried turning it on and off, and even unplugging it. Couldn't open the remote because the battery cover was screwed down. Went to call the front desk, but the phone was dead. Called on my phone, service tech came in about 15 minutes, and said yeah, they have problems with these tvs because an outside company services them. He had difficulty opening the remote too, did the multiple resets, unplug, and gave me a second remote which turned on the tv. He changed out the phone battery. He left after 45 min, tv did shut off with the new remote. It was now too late to wait for him again , so no tv service (we had planned to watch a movie) at night nor in the morning. Good waste of our time after travel. Saw same front desk person in the morning, complained but he could care less it seemed, no apologies either. Went to breakfast elsewhere, came down to the same front desk person, and asked for a manager. He said manager would be out in 5 minutes. I called an Uber in the meantime which came in about 15 minutes before seeing any manager so we left. The Fairfield down the block was a MUCH better experience, we stayed there 2 nights a few days prior. I wonder if booking through hotels.com instead of Marriott made them treat us different. I'm a Gold Elite member so stay in Marriotts alot."

"Fantastic hotel. Booked same day and checked in that evening because we had to leave the original hotel that we booked (we won't talk about that one). The front desk lady (didn't get name unfortunately) was so nice. We lucked out with a corner room! Whole Kitchen, microwave, fridge and freezer with an ice maker. Bed was comfy and the shower was amazing with different options on the shower head. You will here car horns, but it's NY, what do you expect. They didn't bother us. Next morning, free breakfast! On our morning there were eggs, sausage, jimmy dean wrapped breakfast sandwiches, bagels, toast, muffins, fruit, yogurt, cereal, apple juice, milk, coffee and tea. Very friendly and attentive staff there too."
