Klassisch kap-holländisch

Hawksmoor House ist ein klassisches, 300 Jahre altes Capholländisches Bauerngehöft. Wir waren zuerst im Herrenhaus untergebracht, dann in einem Nachbargebäude. Beide Zimmer waren ausserordentlich schön. Der Service war sehr freundlich. Zu bemängeln gab es nichts. Allerdings sollten Reisende wissen, dass die Anfahrt über einen unbefestigten Weg erfolgt. Wifi gibt es nur im Herrenhaus. Nach einer Corona-Pause könnte hie und da die Fassade frisch gestrichen werden. Aber dies sind wirklich winzige Details.

Excellent for a base to explore the area / quick stop over / weekend break etc. Superior Rooms were well appointed, clean and reasonably modern (refurbished old slaves quarters) whereas some of the standard rooms were much older / traditional. Manor house is steeped in history, but the general upkeep of the buildings and gardens could do with a bit of tlc / sprucing up here and there - some areas felt a little neglected. But all in all a pleasant return stay and we would recommend Hawksmoor House for future stays at the current room rate.

Schönes großes Grundstück aber nicht gepflegt und in die Jahre gekommen, nette Idee mit den Antiquitäten - sollten aber auch gepflegt werden, große Zimmer mit Terasse und Ausblick, große Dusche, kaum Wasser aus Duschamatur - mühsames Duschen, gutes Frühstück, leider viele Flecken und Löcher in den Bettdecken, Terrassen total ungepflegt und dreckig

Sehr freundlicher Empfang auch noch am späteren Abend. Das Personal sorgt sich immer um einen. Das Frühstück an der großen Tafel mit anderen Gästen war sehr unterhaltsam. Es gab ein sehr gutes Frühstück.

Perfect Farmhouse Getaway!

Our stay at Hawksmoor house, while short, was beautiful. The property is stunning! It is a 300 year old working farm and every room has so much character. It felt like we were visiting the french countryside! The only thing to note is that this farm is a twenty minute drive from Stellenbosch, which was fine for us. We preferred staying outside of the city a bit and can't wait to come back!

Great food and top notch service

Hawksmoor House was a fantastic last minute deal on Hotels.com. The rooms are large and rustic but with plenty of modern amenities. I would have preferred wifi in the room as I need that while traveling but if that is not a necessity for you, then I recommend this as a great retreat from technology. Great food and top notch service.

Beautiful hotel with stunning scenery

Stunning country manor style hotel set deep within the wine lands. The relaxed atmosphere, fantastic breakfast and attentive staff all added to a very enjoyable stay. Beautiful scented roses in the bedroom when we arrived and French melodies on in the kitchen. Room was very clean and had a modern bathroom. The only criticisms I can think of are that the wifi only works in the dining room, the slight brownish tinge to the bath water and small frog in the pool which some might find unpleasant, but we relished as typical of a house of this age and style. A fantastic getaway from modern trappings!

Adresse qui change des guest house ou hotels classiques. En pleine campagne mais tout proche de l'autoroute, a 15 mn de Stellenbosch. Calme, joli endroit, bassin pour poissons au milieu d'un cadre equilibre et de tres bon gout. Piscine. Petits-dejeuners delicieux. Personnel tres agreable et a votre service. Chambres simples mais literie excellente, on y dort tres bien :) Hautement recommendable

Great location and beautiful grounds. Typical older estate type accommodation so not very luxurious. No TV in rooms and had some problems with the running water. Staff are very good and friendly. Great breakfasts on the patio.
