This place was perfect for what we needed. Its in a very safe neighborhood and walkable to restaurants, the beach and gives great views of table mountain and lions head. The transfer from the airport to the accommodations was convenient. The breakfast each morning was excellent.

Beautiful view, staff helpful, location great pool was unusable. Some of the grouting and finish could be better. We managed to check in early which was a bonus!

Breakfast is good but only offered between 8 and 10 am . Most of our excursions picked us up at or before 8. We were not given a code for the entry gate on the first day and were locked out. The second day we had the code , but not the key to the front door. They lock up at 7. We came back from dinner and we were locked out again . Staff were very friendly and room was clean

Wonderful stay, at an ideal safe and quiet location only 10mins to the beach. Great value, and breakfast is even included in the price. Lovely host where nothing was too much trouble. Rooms are basic but bed is very comfortable with crisp linens. Soft towels and quality shampoo and body wash are provided. I’d definitely stay again without hesitation.

Warm and friendly welcome to Cape Town

We had a lovely stay at Finchley Guest House. They were very friendly and welcoming, and accommodating with our late check-in when our flight was delayed. Our room was clean and just as we expected it to be. Breakfast was delicious. Location and ocean view was beautiful.

My experience with them has led me to believe that they are misleading customers; I reserved a certain guest room in advance. When I went to check in, I discovered that my room had been switched to this little one, but they had not even informed me of the change. When the gentleman at the front desk showed me the room, I told him right away that it wasn't the one I had booked or paid for. He requested that I present him with my receipt and the room description that I had reserved.and he acknowledged that my room had been switched; said don't worry, I'll attempt to find out with the management or owner. He try and to reach out with them through the phone and find out why they change room , to switch the room with other guest if that is possible or to return my money however, they didn’t pick up I waited 1hr and 45 min .The funny thing is he knew that like they didn’t pick up because they missed up he said “I the manager did something intentional; they always pick up the phone for in case of emergency if the front desk personnel called from the landline.”long story short I didn’t stay there I left and booked another hotel. There are very good hotel like Mojo hotels and city lounge with very adorable prices …. Please don’t waste your money there very fraud , disrespectful and also they don’t communicate once you pay your money they don’t know you. Please people of color think about it before you book here. I am very disappointed and very sad about the whole situation..

Die teilsweise sehr guten Bewertungen finden wir interessant. Die Bilder auf der Webseite und den Hotel Portalen sind wohl schon recht alt und aus einer besseren Zeit. Zuerst möchten wir jedoch erwähnen, dass das Guesthouse nicht schmutzig war, das Personal ist sehr höflich und das Frühstück ist im Vergleich zu anderen Gusthouses schlicht aber ok. Wir bemängeln lediglich den Zustand des Hauses, es ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen und teilweise wirklich sehr verschlissen. Vieles ist sehr abgenutzt und nicht einladend. Der Pool und der Innenbereich ist ziemlich einfach, die Stoffe auf den Sofas sind fleckig, Zimmertüre und Badtüre klappern bei Wind extrem, die Zimmer und das ganze Haus sind extrem hellhörig. Die Bilder vermitteln ein gepflegtes und schönes Guethouse, deswegen waren wir etwas enttäuscht, wir waren in vielen Guesthouses, die deutlich besser waren.

Magnificent weekend!

We had an amazing stay. The place was very nice and clean Handyson (the receptionist) was very friendly and welcoming. We felt like staying long and we want pay a visit again.

Leider entsprechen die Bilder nicht dem Zustand. Hotel ist sehr in die Jahre gekommen. Es roch muffig und die Möbel waren sehr abgenutzt. Der Teppich sah auch schon recht fleckig und abgenutzt aus. Von den Wänden platzte Farbe ab. Es sollte dringend in den Zimmern renoviert/saniert werden. Wir haben nach 30 Minuten ein anderes Hotel aufgesucht. Wer nur eine Unterkunft zum schlafen braucht und keinen Anspruch an Komfort stellt ist hier richtig. Für Erholungsurlaub leider ungeeignet.

Schönes Gästehaus mit Blick auf den Atlantik

Wir waren 3 Übernachtungen im Finchley guest house. Die Lage ist schön ruhig mit Blick aufs Meer. Parkplätze für Mietwagen stehen ausreichend in der Einfahrt zur Garage bzw. auf geschottertem Parkstreifen am Strassenrand zur Verfügung. Der Empfang war sehr freundlich, insgesamt sind alle Mitarbeiter sehr bemüht und jederzeit hilfsbereit. Wir hatten ein Zimmer im Erdgeschoss, dort hat uns enttäuscht der Zustand des Badezimmers, um die Toilette herum blättert grossflächig die Farbe ab. Hier besteht Renovierungsbedarf! Direkt vor unserer Terrassentür befand sich der kleine Pool, der allerdings aufgrund der derzeitigen Wasserknappheit nicht genutzt werden durfte, wofür wir natürlich Verständnis hatten. Fussläufig sind diverse Restaurants erreichbar, bis 22:00 Uhr kann an auch nach Aussage des Personals unbesorgt zu Fuss zurücklaufen. Es kann in Camps Bay sehr windig sein, an 2 Tagen hatten wir nachmittags und nachts stürmischen Wind mit starken Böen.
