While the property ia a litte jaded the location and vale were perfect. The rooms were clean and attractivr and the staff were very helpful and hospitable( especially Brenda) we were offerd us coffee and home made warm donuts on arival which were very welcome after the long flight from the UK
I stayed 5 nights here, and the hosts Brenda and Gertrude doted on me so much that I felt guilty! They were totally accommodating.
They provide a decent breakfast and a nice afternoon tea. The guest house is close to the city centre of Cape Town, but is just outside it so as to allow it to be quiet.
The rooms are spacious and clean. The building is an older facility. The outside of the facility could use “a spit and a polish.” The property is gated and feels safe, though you have to ask the hosts to be let in and out.
A good value for the money.

e were a group of 7 who stayed at this place. We enjoyed the most warm welcome we had with refreshments and tea. The staff is extremely friendly, and helpful. We could ask them anything and they would do whatever possible to help us out. The guesthouse is an over 200year old building giving it a natural charm. Rooms are tidy, beds are comfortable. And for the internet addicts: WIFI works well and it is free of charge. Now breakfast: it is just impossible to leave the breakfast table hungry! Eggs, cereals, toast, jams, yoghurt, juices... It is a B&B, so there is no dinner served in the evening, BUT the staff will help you to order in if you wish (that's what we did). You can use the kitchen materials (plates, silverware,..) to eat in. Make yourself some coffee, tea...A very relaxed atmosphere- giving you a home-like feeling. Granted, you are not downtown CapeTown - but that's only a few kilometers away (15 minutes by car) max. We preferred a quiet location, giving us a good night's sleep. All in all: great value for money!!

Very lovely staff and owners. Great room, clean and comfy.
Hyggelig sted, gode senger, god frokost.
We stayed at District Six questhouse few days in february. Room was very cozy with a good taste of furnishment. The building itself was old and it has a very interesting history. We liked the atmosphere of the place! The nights in Cape Town can be really windy. You can feel and hear it in the composition of the old building. But it only showed us very atmospheric! The place is safe because of the high fence surrounding the area and the night guard in the place. The host lady was very helpful and friendly. She served us a very tasty and quite versatile breakfast which included in the price. There was tea and biscuits available in the kitchen which we could use freely all the time. The safety box is not in the room. Good place to stay according the price!
The owner is possibly the most hospitable person you could want to meet (she dropped in to visit every morning) and the staff follow in her manner. The location is very accessible to both the highway to downtown Cape Town and the International airport. The rooms are ageing but very comfortable, quiet and clean. We rented a car and parked the car on site in a gated area.
I was very happy with the atmosphere at the guest house, and all in all I was satisfied with my stay. This guest house is driven by the owners in a very welcoming and guest friendly way, and I can only recommend others to visit the place, if they appreciate personality and autencity from the place they are staying. Especially if you yourself is a person who likes to involve yourselv with the people who surround you. The place itself is not in the best maintenance condition, and it is not located in the best place, if you want to be close to downtown. On the other hand it takes only 40 minutes walk to downtown, and 1 hours walk to the water front, and it is possible to shop all dayly necessaries in the near neighborhood. All in all I was happy with my stay, and I give the place an honest recommendation.

Disliked: Room comfort
Not what I was expecting from a 3 star rated establishment. The room was the major disapointment. Very basic and poorly equiped. It is understandable that the building is a heratage siteand no major structural adhancements can be made.
We stayed at District Six for 10 days.
Obviously, considering the cost, it is a simple but perfect arrangement.
The location is ideal: not far from the center that is easily reached and cheap with uber, in a quiet area away from traffic.
The rooms are spacious, equipped with every comfort and furnished with good taste.
Breakfast is excellent and plentiful, in a beautiful room overlooking the harbor.
Finally the staff is courteous and always available, including the owner who shows up often and is very friendly.
I would definitely stay here again and recommend it.

Excellent staff who were extremely helpful and went out their way to accommodate requests and address issues. The decor is old fashioned and the maintenance is suboptimal. The location is excellent and their is a wonderful view from the spacious verandah.
Wkr kommen gerne wieder!!!
