"My fiancé and I really like this hotel, this was actually the second time we've stayed here and we will stay again in the future. The interior of the building is beautiful, done in the style of an old mansion of the early 1900s where the lady of the family would receive visitors in the drawing room and the staff would bring tea and tiny sandwiches! The rooms are like that too, with an old world feel that is part of the charm of the place. Also the staff are really lovely and friendly and welcoming. We had breakfast here too, we liked it, it's mostly 'cold' breakfast items but there was a toaster too and also a slow cooker keeping some porridge warm. There were some utter snobs (other hotel guests) in the breakfast room complaining about it because it wasn't a full cooked breakfast but there was nothing wrong with it, if you want something more fancy then go somewhere else and pay more for your stay! This hotel is lovely, thank you staff for an enjoyable stay there."

"I thoroughly enjoyed my stay at this hotel. The location was great, right opposite Sefton park and close to the main road and shops. The building was beautiful and steeped in history. It was tastefully decorated and tastefully lit throughout. They had a manned reception with a very helpful and polite lady on the desk. Our room was spacious and again, tastefully decorated with high quality items and a luxurious, en-suite bathroom. Despite being near a main road the room was relatively quiet and we both had a good sleep and a very relaxing stay. There was limited parking within the property grounds, but there was additional, off-road parking just outside."

"Found this hotel while exploring options in town as a backpacker and it didn't disappoint at all! Situated conveniently near public transport routes meant getting around easily wasn't tough at all. Early check-in really helped me get settled after arriving late-night which allowed extra time before heading out again next morning. sweet deal there indeed! Enjoyed staying in what they called an 'upgraded' room, with charm aplenty plus breathtaking views through big windows!"

"Excellent price, terrific location- very quiet and excellent parking right outside. The only minor things I would mention - not enough toilet paper, no shampoo or conditioner, and body wash virtually empty. Both beds very uncomfortable, but of course beds are very much a personal preference. One bed was very hard, the other was very soft and you could feel the springs when laying on it. Did not use the sofa bed. It had not been vacuumed when we arrived and the sofa has stains. Fast communication from the host, who is very personable."
