However, the hotel itself seems to be stuck in a bygone era, not due to its vintage charm, but because of its apparent lack of upkeep. The condition of the premises was a letdown, particularly the walls and doors on our floor, which were dingy and covered in marks. This gave a neglected feel that could easily turn off guests looking for a more pristine environment. While the location of Harvey's Hotel is ideal for exploring the beauty of Lake Tahoe, the hotel could significantly benefit from some renovations and attention to detail. A refresh of the interiors could help in restoring Harvey's to a more appealing state that matches its wonderful surroundings. Overall, if you're not too fussy about modern aesthetics and can overlook some wear and tear, the welcoming staff and excellent location might make up for the drawbacks. However, for those who value a clean and updated environment, this hotel might not be the best choice until improvements are made."
