"The cottage and surrounds were inviting and peaceful. Bed linen was beautiful, though we did find the mattresses too firm for us. Everything we needed was supplied and the fireplace kept the cottage cosy and warm. We also enjoyed the bookcase filled with an interesting mix of books and games, as well as the hammock and a fire by the dam to take in the beautiful starry sky. Elbert was friendly, welcoming and helpful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!"

"Perfect place to get away from the city and relax. For curious people there is plenty to do in the area - it's central to Castlemaine, Maldon, Daylesford, Maryborough, et al. For the non-curious, settle down in front of the firebox and read or watch the bird life through the window. We explored both options and enjoyed a very relaxing mid-winter getaway."
