"Overall the hotel was fine. Room was clean, breakfast was good. I would probably have given 4 out of 5 stars. However, the parking situation is really not great. There are If you are driving and have any heavy luggage, you may end up having to drag your bags . In hindsight, it also occurs to me they never offered a porter for my bags or valet service. That’s the short version. The long version is the hotel is built on a hillside and there are three separate guest buildings. There is an underground parking garage under each building, each with its own elevator up to that building only. So if you don’t (or can’t) park in the garage under your building, it’s a long walk to your room, and you will need to take different elevators. Hard to explain and that may be why the receptionist did not explain it to me at check-in. I’m not sure what the fix is - maybe a valet or porter. "
"Great location, very friendly and helpful staff, very clean and well-appointed rooms, quiet. The only reason I didn’t give it “excellent” is that the shower was terribly weak, a dribble, as if in a drought-stricken country with flow regulators. Which is not the case in New Zealand! Otherwise, lovely stay"
"Great place! Very clean, inviting and our rooms were fabulous. Property was relaxing and we slept like a rock! Being by the lake is so worth it. They offer a water taxi into town which was so convenient. "
"Room was clean and comfortable. Staff at reception were exceptional in helping me find another room as the one they gave me first was facing the busy street from below. All you saw looking out the window were some bushes and car wheels and exhaust fumes. I wonder why they do this to guests who stay more than one night. Maybe because Expedia bookings are treated less favorable? Who knows....just makes you feel a bit short changed.
10 out for 10 for Maria at reception for sorting this out for me. She's s the kind of staff that make you feel welcome and she found me a room facing the courtyard.
The hotel clearly caters mostly for groups and is enormous. You may have a hard time finding your room but don't give up, just keep walking. 😜
They charge for parking and there is only limited space on a first in first served basis. We didn't have a problem as the hotel was full with tour groups travelling by bus.
In my view the hotel is a bit expensive for what it is. It sits on a hill so you will have to walk down into the center of town. Not far but could be a bit strenuous for elderly people. There's a bus but no shuttle.
