"I enjoyed a very pleasant two night stay here. My self-contained bedroom and ensuite was spacious, clean and well appointed. Being able to park right outside the room turned out to be a welcome convenience since the weather was, um, less than kind! All the staff were helpful and courteous. The excellent breakfast was varied and plentiful, ensuring a good start to the day. I chose to eat in the bar, rather than the restaurant. The menu featured the familiar pub 'classics' but they hit the spot just fine. The well-known brand of Irish stout was served to perfection! Overall a comfortable and enjoyable stay. I'd definitely be happy to stay here again on future visits. PS: Just a note to the hotel - one of the bedside lamps in suite 9 doesn't work (the on/off pull cord is missing)."

"Yes, these rooms are above a pub but you can’t hear any noise. The appointments were like that of a luxury hotel. The staff worked behind the bar at the pub for the most part and they were extremely responsive to any request. Not sure many tourists find their way to this particular town, but if you’re anywhere near Scarborough, this is the place to stay."
