Dust off your dirndl and get a little taste of Europe in Hahndorf, Australia’s oldest remaining German settlement.

This wunderkammer in the Adelaide Hills is a charming jumble of half-timbered houses, where artisanal bakeries, smallgoods stores, brewpubs and bars continue the distinctive German flavour. Stroll down the tree-lined main strip to find craft shops, galleries and museums. Cellar doors and wineries serve up local varietals from the surrounding vineyard-latticed landscapes.
