"We stayed two nights in Venice, and this was a wonderful hotel. The staff were very friendly, and our room was extremely nice. The bed was comfortable and the shower was large — which I feel is worth noting as the bathrooms and showers in the other hotels we stayed in during our trip through Italy were quite small. We had breakfast at the hotel during our stay, and it was very good. The location is very convenient, and it was easy to walk around and to get to the water taxi from the hotel....

"Palazzo Stern was lovely and on a quiet corner. The people that worked there were very kind and helpful. The full breakfast was very good; we chose from a menu several courses..coffee, a croissant or muffin, a yogurt and a main dish (eggs for example). The service was friendly. They have an outdoor terrace on the water which is just beautiful, but we we did not have luck to use it since it rained during our stay. The lobby is small, includes the reception desk and a small bar off the reception....

The only downside is unfortunately you will see unsavory individuals on roadsides and we even saw folks taking drugs on parking lots nearby. Be a little vigilant as you walk on the neighborhood.
