“I will return”
It was a great location and the service was first rate
“Furama opinion”
The hotel is clean, a bit old but still OK. But the thing that gets me about this place is the greed of the management. I have stayed there several times for extended stays over the past two years but I receive absolutely no recognition. The past two times I booked through Expedia and the breakfast is not included and when I asked how much extra they want for the breakfast they tell me it will be an extra 120 dollars. The common sense is non existent. I ask for late check out for 2PM and it is declined. The hotel management is the problem there for me. They are very tight and don't want to give anything. I will definitely not consider this hotel for future stays. There are many hotels in Singapore and this Furama doesn't deserve another dollar ot my money.
“Don't pay extra for a 'club' room.”
Location is good, service is good, the room was large, clean and, except for a lack of storage space for clothes, well appointed. I would stay at this hotel again, if it is close to whatever event takes us back to Singapore. No need to read on unless you are considering the upgrade rooms... The 'executive floor' facilities turned out to be a very small, uncomfortably furnished, harshly decorated, glass-fronted office next to reception. While breakfast was included it was a very poor effort. An 'american breakfast' featuring halal substitutes is never a good idea, but I was amazed to find that the asian alternatives were inedible too. Oh well, at least we can drop in for a drink later? Well yes, between the hours of 6pm and 8pm they offer a narrow selection of spirits from brands never seen before or since; having eyed up the drinks and the uninviting surroundings we skipped those too. Luckily there are plenty of places for a decent meal nearby, and socializing in a hotel is rarely on my list of things to do. The money saved on the room upgrade could buy any amount of gaudy tat in the nearby market.
“Internet”
Having been travelling for the last 4 months in south-east asia where internet access is almost or totally free I was extremely desappointed to learn that internet in the hotel cost 15 US$ an hour ! Just a SHAME The room was great, service good, breakfast good.
“Decent hotel, great price.”
This is a perfectly fine hotel with decent rooms, a central location and great price. I have probably spent over a month at this hotel during the last 3 years. Service can be a little patchy, but the price and overall experience can't be beat. I never allow the bellmen to have my bags, because of this experience: 7pm arrive. 7:30pm, bag still not delivered. I leave the hotel for dinner, wearing the same clothes. Return at midnight. Still no bags in the room. At 4am the phone rings, to see if I want my bags now! It's rare for me to complain to management, but I did in this case and got only a half-hearted apology. I don't think they understood the incredible faux pas. The guest needs their bag, and you should never, ever wake a guest at 4am unless they have asked you to! It's a good idea to reserve your own taxi ahead of time if you need to get somewhere like the airport. This is generally true of Singapore.
“Position Position & accessibility”
Not the newest outside facade, but the hotel has a pool to cool off in and good happy hour with friendly staff. The Furama City Centre is very conveniently located close to the MRT and quality cheap food and markets in Chinatown and within walking distance of many interesting places - Clarke Quay even. For a real nice and value for money milk iced coffee go to Teh Terak stall in the Far East Square complex. The Yum Cha restaurant in chinatown area is also very reasonable and great quality and busy.
“This is def not a 4 star hotel by any standards”
This hotel barely makes a 2 star rating! We arrived to our room and it didn't have a window!!!! I have never seen that before! Additionally it had an overwhelmingly strong moldy odor. When we called to tell them this, they upgraded our room to a deluxe room. Hardly deluxe, a motel 6 would have been an upgrade to their deluxe, but, we were only there for a few hours as our flight was at 7 am. I wouldn't stay there again if even only for a few hours.
“Won't go back there, room especially carpet needed upgrading badly.”
State of carpet in room was very bad. Shower unsatisfactory, complaint, but no different.
“Nice located”
The hotel was not amazing, but is nice located and is pretty good. Clean, secure and near Clarke Quay.
“service and buffet were nice, will be back.”
overall were good, service was nice, and we had a great view from our room.
