“Excellent Motel”

This motel offers an open entrance from the sidewalk onto a large rectangular outdoor patio with garden furniture, an umbrella and lots of potted plants. There are 9 rooms on each side of the patio. Each room has a sliding glass door that opens right onto the patio. I also liked this motel because it has a high water pressure shower with plenty of hot water, a walk in closet with lots of room, lots of shelf space and a high ceiling, lots of drawer space in the room, lots of storage space in the bathroom, windows that can be opened and locked shut, 99 channels of cable tv, a fan, a mirror, tile floors, a comfortable queen size bed, an opaque curtain that covers the patio door that no one can see through, also has a regular wooden door, free wi-fi, 24 hour desk, soda machine on the patio, bus stop one block away, library 2 blocks a way with free internet, laundromat across from the library, situated right between Santa Monica pier and Venice Beach, Santa Monica beach straight down the block, lots of stores and restaurants in area, safe, beautiful neighborhood, the owners and staff are very friendly. It is a family run motel, and you feel more like you are a guest in their home instead of a hotel guest. The patio is the common space, and everything revolves around that. It is a great place and happens to be the least expensive motel or hotel in Santa Monica. I highly recommend this motel to anyone who wants to save a lot of money, as well as have a unique experience.

“I liked the hotel”

Positives - the hotel was in a good area; there were shops, a park, a library, and a small grocery store close by; the city bus line stopped in front of the hotel; the staff were efficient and courteous; I felt safe in the courtyard and in my room - there was only one entry into the courtyard and doors to the rooms. Not quite so positive - the hotel is older and the rooms are small, but overall I was pleased with my stay and would stay there again.

“Great on a budget”

Super old era style funky 50's hotel set in great neighborhood for the budget minded traveler. We were there for a show at McCabes guitar store so no need for frills. Beach and shopping are within reasonable access, owner very sweet and kind. Lot's of world travelers needing to be cost conscious. Safe, clean but funky. Well monitored and no sleaze. Basic needs met if you only need a place to shower and sleep. Would go back.

“Feels like a guest bedroom”

This is a great motel. The bed was super comfy and the bathroom floor and shower had really cool tile. The location is great. I had my bike & the ride to the beach was awesome. The staff was so nice too. If you want to save money, this is a great price for the location!

“Quaint and Comfy”

This hotel is located in one of the best areas of Santa Monica, 20+ blocks from the beach. Tucked away beneath a veil of grape vines, it is private, quiet, and safe. The room is tiny, but the bed is comfy. Wireless worked perfectly. If you're just looking for a place to shower and sleep, you are getting exactly what you pay for, whereas many hotels with the same exact set-up will charge you twice as much merely because they are closer to the ocean. I do not recommend this hotel for high-maintenance guests; for the thrifty traveler, though, this place is great.

“No other like it.”

It's like a family owned motel. The owners are there to make sure your needs are taken care of. There's an Albertson's, Market, a mini-market close by in walking distance. The showers in the rooms are great. Plenty of hot water, clean bathrooms, color t.v., wifi. Other guests are friendly. Only nice people go there. Close to Santa Monica Pier and Venice Beach. Going back for spring break. The best and cheapest motel around. Why spend more just to have a place to sleep in.

“Homey Spot in SM”

Its the cheapest place in Santa Monica. Its definitely an old motel, not a new like a hotel, but for the price, service, and location it def works.

“Hmm...”

This hotel had a hostel feel to it. It is fine if all you are really interested in is a place to throw you bags and crash for a couple hours. The staff was friendly, courteous and helpful. What is lacked in asthetic appeal is made up for in customer service!

“Great location, no frills”

Great location. Friendly owner/staff. No frills but comfortable. If all you need is a shower and a place to sleep at a cheap price you won't find any better in the area.
