“highly recommended”
I stayed the hotel in middle July with my kids. We were very pleased with our stay at Hotel Globus. My backpack containing passports, camera and ID, got stolen when boarding the train from Milan. The manager on duty was extremely caring and helpful. He spent hours on the phone to get in touch with police stations, embassy, and consulate for me. When my backpack was later located to a remote police station outside of Milan, the hotel manager patiently helped booking train ticket so I can retrieve my backpack. The room was very neat and clean. The location is great- within waling distance from everything - train station and major attractions. The breakfast was also very good. We would definitely stay again!
“Amazing!!!”
It's a cute little hotel that's really close to a lot of the sights... right down the street from the Mercato Centrale, around the corner from the Church of San Lorenzo, and a ten minute walk from the Cathedral of Santa Maria del Fiore. The room was small, but it was just me traveling alone so it was perfect. Breakfast is good and the staff is so friendly and helpful. I'd definitely stay there again if I make it back to Florence.
“Very enjoyable stay”
Very impressed by the hospitality of the receptionists and housekeepers. They are extremely helpful and patient. The location is great, close to Florence main train station (4 min) and most major attractions. I'd rank high on the quality/dollar.
“Gem of a Hotel”
I'd read the reviews for Hotel Globus, so I already knew about the reception desk being on (for Americans) the second floor. No problem. There is usually only one person at the desk, and if possible they will come and help you with your luggage if you need that. The desk staff all speaks excellent English and is very helpful with recommendations for places to eat and things to see. Nicolo even gave me some suggestions for places to run! WiFi was available throughout the hotel while I was there. If for some reason it's not, they have a laptop in the reception area for gust use. Breakfast is definitely adequate - it's not huge, but there is plenty of food to choose from. And the man who runs it makes a killer cappuccino!! The room I had was tiny, but I knew I had booked the smallest category room, and I didn't go to Florence to stay in the room, so it was fine. The bathroom likewise was tiny, and the only slight issue was the placement of the toilet and the shower doors - I had to step on or over the toilet to get into and out of the shower. But that was minor. Hotel Globus is GREAT and I will definitely stay there the next time I'm in Florence! Highly recommended!!
“Made my short stay in Florence excellent”
Very convenient location walk to train station and markets. Hop on bus and resturants at your door.
“Linda”
I was extremely happy with the gentleman at the desk. He was always very helpful. I was surprised to see a computer near the front desk for our use, free of charge. Morning breakfast was very good. The best we had during our week's stay in Italy. The hotel was very convenient to everything. We were very happy with our stay in Florence.
“Fairly priced, well located, hotel with small, very well designed rooms.”
The Hotel was well located, the staff was friendly and knowledgable, and the small room was so well laid out that the size wasn't a problem.
“Fantastic value for money”
Such a friendly place to stay. The staff were so warm, welcoming and all spoke near perfect English. The room had complimentary Sky TV, which was a huge boost during the World Cup. The bed sloped a little on one side but otherwise, the room was very clean and comfortable. However, the bathroom wasn't big enough to swing a mouse, let alone a cat. The shower was tiny and you needed to be a 7ft stick insect to sit down on a ridiculous toilet - located behind a radiator, right next to the wall.
“Great Locations especially for Business Conference”
We stayed at Globus twice during our trip. We cannot say enough nice things about the staff at Hotel Globus. Everyone speaks great English and was willing to answer even the silliest questions. The hotel is kept very clean, and the location is great. Walking to the Fortezza conference center was easy, and it was simple to get to all the tourist sites. The train station is also very close. There is a variety of options for dining very close and the staff can recommend some great places. The elevator is smaller than we are used to, but it works great and I was glad not to have to lug our bags upstairs. There is one flight up from the entrance to the lobby that the elevator doesn't service, but it is not horrible. We really enjoyed breakast and the breakfast area is charming. Our room the first stay was smaller, but had a little balcony with a small table and 2 chairs where we ate our lunches a few times while on break from the conference. On our second stay our assigned room was bigger, but did not have the little balcony. On the whole I would recommend this hotel to anyone travelling to Florence.
“Small, friendly, comfortable”
Nice quiet and clean room with modern furniture and sky TV. Very helpful and friendly staff. Great location. Nice restaurants nearby, all attractions close to hotel. Great view from room window. All in all a very positive experience, will stay here again if travelling to Florence.
