“good location”

good location in the city,staff were friendly and helpful.room was nice and big for the family. only grumble room service was late and cold but did refund the money.

“Great Location, So-So Room”

the Marque staff was freindly and very courteous when i arrived. the room is so-so. the wallpaper, sink and carpet needed to be tended to and the tv worked about 75% of the time. the location more than made up for the room. you're around the corner from everything: casino, movies, pubs, clubs, etc. don't expect the Shangri-La when you go.

Location is excellent - walking distance to shopping, the casino and to the boardwalk and museums on the other side of the river. Basic amenities but clean and comfortable. On-site restaurant was surprisingly good. Lots of options off-site for meals.

“great for the last minute. good enough”

the only meal served was breakfast. the place looks like it's going to be cool once construction is done. was happy with our stay except for the linen closet just outside our room which was constantly getting slammed shut by the staff.

I don't think there is anything to complain about if you are looking for basic accomodation. It is affordable, comfortable, clean, quiet, and the general area is safe.

“Great”

Was happy with the room, it wasn't ready on time but everything else was great. Happy with the location, it's close enough to the city but no to close as to keep you awake on the weekends.

“Would use this hotel again.”

We stayed at the Marque for 3days/3nights in Sept. 2011. It is a very nice hotel, but understand that it is an older hotel and probably needs updating. We arrived on Mon. afternoon and the room was warm. The aircon was broken and needed to be fixed. They sent someone not too long after we reported it and they fixed it. The room was clean and comfortable. The bathroom was fine, but the shower looked as if it could be cleaner. (Some mildew in the corners.) The fridge was stocked and there were snacks, but everything cost $ and it was expensive. We bought food/drink and brought it in. The staff was friendly and for the most part helpful. You can't beat the location of the hotel. It was convenient to everything! You could walk anywhere in the city and we were close to the buses and trains. Considering everything, I would stay there again and recommend it as well. Just remember it is not posh, but it is comfortable. And we were happy with that.

“Tired but great location”

The Marque Hotel is old. bit tired inside but is quiet and in a great location for The Mall, South Bank and riverside walks. There is a free city-loop bus right outside. Found reception staff poorly advised and just didn't know basic info - sometimes even gave incorrect answers. Yes we would recommend it for its VERY convenient location and quietness. Didn't try their food so not comments there. Would stay there again.

Excellent locale, great value, good service, decent decor, but could use some updating.
