Across Sydney Harbour and stretching north are the Northern Beaches, beginning with Manly and extending 28 kilometers (17.4 miles) to Palm Beach. In between are South Steyne, North Steyne, Queenscliff, Harbord, South and North Curl Curl, Dee Why, Collaroy, Narrabeen, Mona Vale, Bungan, Newport, Bilgola, and Avalon. The beaches, popular for swimming, surfing, and fishing, are accessed by bus, by car from the Sydney Harbour Bridge, or by ferry from Circular Quay.
