Room was comfortable, clean, and well appointed.

The Oaks was once a great place to stay, unfortunately that is not the case today, the units are tired and dated with very little atmosphere, ours was on the 5th floor and on the dark side of the building, the lights had to be on all day, the air cond could not be set to warm and the temp control was all over the place, the facilities are good and the location is okay but noisy at times, there seems to be a lot of permanent residents and the bottom floors have cages around them where their personal stuff is stored. Transport is close and very good to the city etc, the eateries on this side of Darling harbour are over priced and not worth the effort, a cheap NZ wine was $18 a glass? The whole bottle is only $15 in NZ, service was crappy and they had the cheek to ask for a tip. Overall okay but we won't use the Oaks again, asked for a wake up call for an early flight and got nothing, lucky for our tablet alarm. 😕

The location is awesome. One tram stop away from circular quay. We love the city views, the big bed, and the corner rooms where we usually stay, are enjoyable. The water from the shower often saturates the floor, which is annoying. Also, the bathroom has few places to store toiletry bags etc, so they have to go on the floor if they don’t fit on the sink area. The service is very good and there is always a lovely fresh smell in the lobby. Breakfast is good, if a little same, same. The staff there are all a little stern. It would be nice if they were a little friendlier.

Great location and helpful staff. We really enjoyed our stay. We arrived early and we were able to use the spa area to freshen up.

Double glazing is currently being installed in all units which will help cut the traffic noise but the train subway runs underneath the building and you can hear the trains day & night. Units are a little tired & need a referb. Would I stay there again? No.
