We have just returned from a lovely stay in the lakes, problem with room on arrival but was sorted straight away. Breakfast was good and lady serving breakfast was lovely made sure you left full. Hotel was closing for 6 weeks to do some renovation and updating which is good overall would stay again.
We booked for 4 nights but had to change rooms after the 2nd night. The mattress in room 5 was stained and smelly. The room had a beam across the bed (with lots of wires behind it!) and we both banged our head on the beam. Not sure why such a small room had a three seater sofa in it.
The new room, room 10, was much nicer and fresher. The staff were very friendly and helpful.
I had to ring to find out room number but was fine after that rather small room but well decorated and handy plugs and a light thing, charger which didn't work. I loved the Japanese loo thing. And fab bathroom. Great welcome at breakfast, quick and professional.
Room was not very big, but stylish and with facilities such as wireless chargers, multi-colored led lights, shower toilet etc.
Breakfast options were a bit limited, but service has great.
Only issue was the traffic outside which was quite noisy, combined with heat forcing us to keep windows.
First time we stayed here, definitely won’t be the last! Brilliant from start to finish- staff were extremely friendly and polite, room was fabulous, area was super! What more could we ask for!
Very clean and bedrooms really up to date and modern, Great location for shops pubs bars and restaurants. Just a short drive to the lake . Great stay I would highly recommend.
On arrival to the big yellow house you have mixed feelings but dont listen to them. The house is 200 years old and a little dark inside keep going. First check out the room to find any dist there isnt any. Check the loo and shower... spotless. Give yourself 30 mins to settle in and you will love the place. Yes it could of been painted white inside but it was painted for charactor. Go stay a night its a great place. Breakfast also gets a 10 for food and service. Well done and thank you
A lovely property with warm, welcoming and attentive staff. Easy to park and come and go as you please. Breakfast options great and this place offers great value in the middle of Windermere and for accessing The Lakes.
Fabulous stay. Everything about the cottage was perfect. Amazing friendly service & the breakfast was particularly fantastic. Will 100% be coming back to stay here.
Our stay was great, the cottage is really nice, great location, excellent breakfast. Margaret was so helpful and welcoming, nothing to much trouble, would definitely stay again
Absolutely loved my stay here! Came here for a weekend, we chose the attic room as we wanted a smaller, more cosy room and it was perfect. The only issue I had was the hot tap on the bath was difficult to turn off but other than that I couldn’t fault the room. The service was perfect, Margaret and her daughter were lovely and welcoming. Would definitely stay again.
The Cottage had a warm bright atmosphere and the staff were great. My daughter's coeliac dietary requirements were catered for at breakfast. Couldn't have asked for a nicer stay. Only one issue, the wifi didn't seem to work up in room 9.
The single room was a bit small but was very clean and tidy breakfast was very good and staff was verry helpful and polite a very friendly and nice place to stay
My first trip to the lakes, and the staff made my visit a thoroughly enjoyable one. Great setting at the top of Windermere town and a stones throw away from the amazing Orrest Head. Great food, wonderfully helpful staff, a lovely, cozy room - all around a fantastic experience.
