"Planned a short getaway to hike Mount Mitchell and this place could not have been more perfectly located to the trailhead. The Lodge is newly built, and ground are impeccably well maintained. The staff was super helpful. They even came by to drop off a lighter so the firepit could be put to use. They have a common use area with a ktichen and grills that can be utilized which is an added bonus as I don’t recall reading about all they had available to make the stay above and beyond expectations....

"We stayed there recently and we absolutely loved the pool and the hot tub. Shaun and Jody are amazing hosts. Our cabin as one of the cabins that isn’t quite remodeled yet but it’s in great condition and was big enough for an entire family ! It was spotless and the bed was comfortable. My only wish list was to have a mountain view but for the price I’d definitely stay there again. We loved how close we were to the lake and Chimney Rock. Great place to relax and breathe in the fresh air."

We were able to cook each night in the well-stocked kitchen, and there was plenty of room for kids and adults to hang out together or separate. "My hubby & I needed a respite & this cozy little cabin was the perfect solution for a two night stay. The views were incredible from most windows & the back deck was perfect for watching the sunset over the mountains. Trees were beginning to turn fall colors so it was extra breathtaking! We enjoyed all the amenities especially the hot tub! A quick drive to Black Mountain for shopping & dining although I think a vehicle with AWD OR 4WD would've helped making it up the rocky driveway. NOT a deal breaker though as we just took our time! Very peaceful & relaxing! We really appreciated how comfortable & private the place felt. Didn't want to leave so soon! It's clear the hosts cherish their home since it's very well maintained inside & out & full of cheery bear decor!"

"*60th birthday getaway with 3 adults, 2 dogs. This place is amazing. Spacious, clean, well stocked, private, quiet, surrounded by beautiful trees and a view. This was the best dog friendly rental I have ever stayed at. Decking on multiple levels with secured gates, helped with dog management. And a fenced in area behind the house. This area is extremely steep, but it offered secured exercise time and if you get your dogs running up the hill they’ll be tired in no time we used it multiple times every day. There is a door to the back from the lower level basement, which helped separate our dogs from the rest of the house as needed. Lots of comfortable space inside and seating outside. Very serene and pretty. I worked remotely while I was there and the wireless was very reliable. Quick access from the main road. Very close to a huge awesome Ingles grocery store. Close to Chimney Rock and Minutes to Lake Lure. We will definitely be back. Lori"
