LAKE LURE LAKEFRONT ~ ROMANTIC ~ KING SIZE BED ~ INTERNET ~ BOAT DOCK ~ LARGE SCREENED PORCH
Bluegill Lakehouse is a fantastically remodeled Lake Lure lakefront home with a modern touch and a well-appointed interior. It is ideal for a romantic getaway or just a quiet, peaceful escape. This home is 1.7 miles to the Beach at Lake Lure, 2.5 miles to the Chimney Rock State Park entrance, and 17 miles to the Tryon International Equestrian Center (TIEC), home to this year's World Equestrian Games!
Upon entering, there is a wonderfully crisp and clean feel as you walk through a nice living area and kitchen that opens up to a large covered screened porch with a dining table and beautiful lake views!
There is a king-size bed in one bedroom and two queen beds in the second bedroom. There is a full bath off the living area between the two bedrooms. The lower level offers another full bath and bedroom with two bunks, with a twin on top and a full on the bottom!
The dock at the lakeside is a great place to sit and dangle your feet in the water or bring your boat for use on the lake (contact Lake Lure for boating regulations and permits). This home does have a canoe and two kayaks for your use.
Lake Lure Beauty Year-Round This home is perfect for every season. The bushes and trees on the shady wooded lot and down the long drive will begin filling with leaves in spring. Summer weather in the area is great most of the time. Autumn brings plenty of visitors to the area for the extraordinary colors. They are even more beautiful when reflected on the lake. With the absence of leaves on the trees in winter, you will see entirely new landscapes. Enjoy the warmth of the outdoor heat lamp during the colder months.
Plus, the Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area and surrounding communities have so much to offer, including restaurants, shopping, and fun outdoor adventures you and your loved ones will never forget. See the Amenities and Notes for just a sampling of what is available.
Conveniently Located Bluegill Lakehouse overlooks and offers access to Lake Lure, ranked by National Geographic Magazine as one of the top scenic lakes in the world. Lake Lure Beach is just several minutes from the home. Several excellent golf courses are nearby, including Apple Valley Golf Course, Bald Mountain Golf Course, and Etowah Valley Country Club and Golf Resort, which Golf Digest rated as one of the top 50 golf destinations in the US.
This beautiful home is centrally located, just 6 minutes from Chimney Rock Village and State Park. The iconic Chimney Rock (for which the area was named) was featured in Arthur Frommer`s Sept/Oct 2012 issue of Budget Travel magazine. The park received the platinum award for Favorite State Park in Blue Ridge Country’s 2013 Best of the Mountains travel poll, with voting every five years and covering seven southern states in the Appalachian Mountains.
It is only 15 minutes from Bat Cave, 35 minutes from Hendersonville, 50 minutes from Asheville, and about 2 hours from Charlotte, North Carolina. Also nearby are Pisgah National Forest (less than 1 hour from Lake Lure), which has over 500,000 acres of protected forest, and DuPont State Recreational Forest (1.25 hours from Lake Lure) with over 10,000 acres. These forests feature hundreds of miles of hiking, biking, horse trails, exquisite waterfalls, and beautiful mountaintop views. If you and/or your children are fans of The Hunger Games book and movie, a scene with Katniss and Gale was shot at the Pisgah National Forest. A few small but significant scenes were also filmed at the DuPont State Recreational Forest.
The Lake Lure/Chimney Rock area is conveniently situated for outdoor adventure, including horseback riding, tubing, water sports, hiking, museums, and theater, the Biltmore Estate and Village, shopping and restaurants, and so much more.

The house was beautiful. Updated throughout and spacious. Very clean with nice decor. The view was amazing from the large patio. Love how close it was to a large grocery store, the Chimney Rock national park, and only 40 mins from Asheville. I would definitely stay here again and recommend it to anyone who is looking stay by a lake.
We booked this house for a long weekend family getaway. The house was a perfect match - good kid space downstairs, plenty of space upstairs for the adults, and great lakeside access directly out the back door. We thoroughly enjoyed the quiet cove for kayaking, jumping off the jump ladder into the lake, swimming to the floating dock, etc. We were visited by ducks, a heron, and a turtle during our stay which the kids loved virtually as much as the super easy lake access. The house was clean and had everything needed for our stay. The property management company communicated with us very effectively when they were concerned we would possibly arrive before the house was finished cleaning.
We also enjoyed several restaurants in the area, mini golf, and the Ingles is located within a few minutes away from the house if you have any grocery needs. The driveway is steep and a mirror at the top would be helpful, but we still managed easily (agreed that it’s easier from the left side than right if you are at all worried). Thank you for allowing us to enjoy your lake home!
This property is spectacular and was even better than we imagined. The views from the porch are fantastic. The lake access is easy and the owners have done a great job anticipating the needs of the guests. Our stay was peaceful and rejuvenating. We cannot overstate how great this property is. We will be back!
My spouse and I booked the Bluegill lakehouse over a long weekend and we are so glad we did. The property was in great shape and in the perfect location to Lake Lure, Chimney Rock, and other great spots in the NC mountains. The amenities were great despite not being able to bring our boat because the lake water levels were so low. The only criticism I would mention is the driveway takes some getting used to. It is very steep and coming out directly into the road takes some skill, especially in a larger vehicle or truck. Something for the property company to consider is putting up a mirror so you can check if there's any traffic coming around the bend as a safety precaution.
We would definitely stay here again!
This was a graduation present for my wife, and we loved the house! Just a heads up…driveway can be intimidating. But other than that…fantastic! Awesome town, awesome views, and an amazing kitchen. When it was beautiful outside we had plenty to do around town, and we had a rainy day where we just stayed in the house. The screened in back deck is an perfect spot on a rainy day. I would highly recommend for any couple or small family looking to getaway.
This house had excellent views and was well equipped from a recent renovation. The inside fireplace was blocked from use but we were able to use the firepit outside by the dock.
This place was so perfect! The dock was a great addition. Too many memories to count. The kitchen has everything you need, the bedrooms were clean and comfortable, and the views were breathtaking. Very quiet cove.
