"Check in initially went well. We were told we were given a room upgrade. The room was definitely not an upgrade!! The floor was under construction and the noise level was extremely loud! A lot of hammering and drilling. When we inquired how long the noise would continue, we were told it was from 9am to 9 pm. We asked for a quieter room and the front desk reacted with an attitude and our room was downgraded. There is no way the hotel did not know about the noise on this floor and they never seemed apologetic for assigning us to a room on it."

"I stayed at this hotel because of its close proximity to the airport. That worked out well for me. I have stayed at other Sofitel hotels before, and I thought that this one compared unfavorably with those. The hotel could use a refresh to bring up its standards. I dined in one of the restaurants for dinner and I found my food disappointing."

"Electra Metropolis is a very solid choice in Athens, and I would stay here again, primarily for its excellent location. The hotel is perfectly positioned in Syntagma, making it incredibly easy to walk to most major sites, restaurants, and shopping areas. For a short city break, this level of convenience is hard to beat, and the area also felt very safe, even in the evenings. The room itself was on the smaller side but well designed and functional. Cleanliness was excellent throughout the stay, housekeeping and turndown service were consistently on point, which made a noticeable difference. The bed was comfortable, although the pillows were synthetic, which may not suit everyone. One of the highlights is breakfast. The rooftop setting with views of the Acropolis is genuinely special, and the food selection was good with attentive service. It’s a great way to start the day before heading out. Service across the hotel was friendly and efficient, with staff generally helpful and welcoming. Facilities are decent. The gym is located in the basement and is on the smaller side, but sufficient for a quick workout. Very good experience and highly recommended. "

"Overall great hotel and wonderful lobby and friendly staff. Sitting on rooftop having breakfast with view of acropolis was amazing. The breakfast itself was plentiful and varied, but refilling could have been a bit quicker. Imagine it would be extremely busy at peak times (we went off peak) and not so pleasant. The staff were all friendly though. Good location about 15 min walk into tourist city centre, and 5 min walk from metro. They stored our luggage for us on the last day which was very helpful. We had a deluxe room which had a huge queen bed. The view was of a derelict building, and the bathroom was clean but small, which was a slight let down. Wonderful touch from hotel who left an anniversary cake in our room which was one of the best chocolate cakes I have eaten!"
