Located just a minute from the quaint selection of restaurants and stores of Volcano Village, and just a four-minute drive from Volcanoes National Park, Hale Mauna Loa offers the perfect balance between a relaxing getaway and home base for your adventures.

    This listing is for the upper level which features a large covered deck complete with fire pit and propane grill. The comfortable country style appointments will have you feeling right at home after a long day of adventures. Warm up by the fireplace if it gets a bit chilly, at approximately 4,000 ft elevation you’ll be glad to know it’s there if you need it. This 3 bedroom 2 bath sleeps up to six people, with a full kitchen and 2 bathrooms the upper level may be better suited for larger parties or those who prefer to do their own cooking.

    The hot tub overlooking the garden is the perfect spot to relax after a long day in the park. Please note that the hot tub is a cummunal space and is shared.

    Please note that the homeowners live quietly on site. Each level has its own key combination for your privacy and security.

Perfect Location and lovely home

This house was perfect for our overnight before going to Volcano National Park. We really enjoyed our stay. Wish we had more time this as it was so comfy and inviting.

Great location near the national park!

We stayed with our three kids and had a great time! While some of the carpet and finishings are a bit worn, the great spaces made up for it. The hot tub was great after hiking at the national park all day, the deck was huge and amazing for grilling dinner, and the gardens made for a very unique rainforest feel to the whole stay!

Three bedrooms, hot tub and fire place!

Awesome property surrounded by ohia trees and hapu’u ferns giving a peaceful vibe. The house provided all our basic needs. Enjoyed our stay and will definitely return soon since I live on the other side of the island.

Nice property close to the park

We enjoyed having room for our family and being close to the park. The house has everything you need and it was fun hearing all the birds and other sounds from the jungle like area around the property.

Great location to explore the park

Large and comfortable spot. Great location to visit the park. The setting in the forest is really cool we even saw wild boar in the yard. Some noise from the owner downstairs is the only negative. The property manager is very responsive and professional.

Great location, so close to Volcano National Park!

Loved the gardens and the gorgeous covered lanai (patio). The unit was spacious and the proximity to Volcano NP was amazing! The beds were comfortable. The very minimal kitchen equipment made it hard to make dinner (ie-no large frying pan, etc) and the light coloured carpet was quite stained throughout which lead to a feeling of it being dirty. Easy fixes would make this place 5 stars.

Cute Place! We Enjoyed our Stay!

We called this place our Rainforest Tree House. Such a beautiful location. The owner was very sweet to work with. The house was clean and well taken care of. Our hardest issue were the stairs, but we managed. Our only other complaint is that we couldn’t stay longer!

Overnight road trip to volcano

We had stayed at this property before and loved it. Our friends loved being in the trees. We were looking forward to using the hot tub but unfortunately it was under repairs . Will definitely be back.

Just wow.

Very well maintained property. A lot of room. Felt like we are in the jungle. Allows us to visit the Volcano National Park with a lot of flexbility by staying so close.

Second time here, and we would go back again

This is an absolutely lovely home in the jungle, with lots of wood and high ceilings. The big lanai is a beautiful spot to relax. The house is spacious, with a nice kitchen and dining area. It would be perfect for a family or 2 or even 3 couples. And it is close to Volcano National Park. One thing to remember is that it gets gold in the jungle at night. The gas fire place warms up the living space, but bedrooms can be cold, so bring warm jammies.

Tropical Oasis

One night stay after a day at Volcanoes National Park. Close enough to the park that we went back in the morning for a few hours before check-out at 11:00. Very roomy for 6 adults with comfy beds and very clean. We thoroughly enjoyed the lanai with the propane fire on table. We felt like we were in the jungle! It had everything we needed and we would have been happy to stay longer if our schedule allowed.

Beautiful location in the Rain Forest

The property was conveniently located close to National Volcano Park. The outdoor space was wonderful with ample seating and was covered. We were able to sit out in the rain by the fire pit being serenaded by the birds all night long! We would have found more info on the property helpful such as how to work the shower, where to leave the garbage etc. The only real issue were the beds they were not very comfortable.
