Palazzo Notarbartolo an extraordinary charming house in the heart of Venice

The apartment is part of a patrician palace presumably dating back to 1300, formerly the seat of the Doge Marcello family. For several centuries it has been owned by my family and only 40 years ago it has been renovated and divided into apartments.

It is located in an absolutely enviable and strategic position a few steps from the Rialto Bridge and Piazza San Marco.

It maintains many of its original beautiful and characteristic architectural elements: the verdant private garden with the characteristic well and the water door, the imposing wooden entrance door to the garden.

Inside the apartment, the high ceilings of over 5 meters with gothic trifora windows and the beautiful "Sansovino" coffered ceiling stand out. The apartment occupies part of the original ancient library and the dining room of the old building.

The house is equipped with effective air conditioning. In the living room, under the mezzanine, two large sofas (one of which is a double bed), a small table and a large flat-screen TV, offer a pleasant relaxation area. The dining area, under the large windows, is part of the living room. Everything is pleasantly decorated with antiques. On the mezzanine, above the sofa area, there is a bedroom with a queen-size bed, a single bed, a baby bed and a wardrobe. The kitchen is perfectly equipped and functional, there is a table for breakfast or informal meals. The main bathroom has a bathtub with shower, two sinks, toilet and bidet. Stairs lead from the entrance corridor to the bright main bedroom with half-moon windows. The master bedroom has a small bathroom with sink and toilet.

Completely renovated with a mix of modern sensitivity and respect for original details, Palazzo Notarbartolo will offer its guests a unique and unforgettable experience in Venice!

Tenants are provided with bed linen and towels; the cleaning service is provided only at the end of the stay for short periods, for periods longer than a week the price includes a cleaning service and change of linen.

The tourist tax of € 4.00 per person / night (up to 5 nights) is payable in cash on arrival. Children up to 10 years do not pay, young children from 10 to 16 pay 50%.

My friend and I enjoyed this beautiful apartment in Venice. The courtyard at the entrance was a wonderful delight and the interior was charming. Located on the main island of Venice, it is very walkable to the main attractions, yet far enough away to not be in the crowds. Thank you for letting us stay here.

We were able to get to this beautiful and quaint apartment very easy from the airport via water taxi. Very easy to get to everything Venice has to offer on foot!We didn’t want to leave but when our time in Venice was at an end, we easily got a water bus to the train station and were able to get to our next destination. A wonderful stay! Thank you!!

Andrea was a wonderful host!! He was was very courteous and helpful, as we got lost trying to find the place. I would highly recommend his condo. It was homey and very quiet.Our favorite place was the kitchen nook. We enjoyed playing cards in there.

Spacious and beautiful unit is Venetian palace

Enter the building through a lush, beautifully landscaped enclosed garden. The apt is lovely, beautifully and tastefully furnished and very spacious and comfortable for the 3 of us. Great location for visiting the main tourist spots or the biennale. Easy to communicate with host and apt manager. Very helpful with directions and suggestions for dining in Venice.

Family trip to Venice

We had a wonderful time in Venice! This apt is perfectly located- close to EVERYTHING- but also not in the highly crowded area. It was a retreat! The courtyard was quiet and beautiful. Our family of 5 were very comfortable - a short visit, 2 nights. Alessandra and Andrea were so helpful too in making recommendations on restaurants and transportation- they made the trip an easy success!

Amazing apartment with history!

Everything about our stay was perfection. From meeting the property manager at our boat taxi to check out, we loved our stay. It was the perfect space to enjoy family time and wine with friends in town. The secluded location but close to everything made this visit even more special. We will visit again!

Beautiful apartment in centre of city

My family of 4 stayed at this beautiful, 2-story historic apartment for 3 days. The location is excellent -- on a quiet, lovely street but still steps from all of the main sites. Our kids loved the loft bedroom, and us adults loved that our bedroom was tucked away on the other side! There are some complications to traveling to Venice, but our host sorted those all out with us in advance, including clear instructions for a water taxi and awesome restaurant reservations. I enthusiastically recommend this property!

Central location, everything you need

Stayed as a family of 5 with 3 kids under 12. Central location and easy access to San Marco, Rialto, vaporetto. Apartment has everything you need to cook, have breakfast and some space to relax. Going back in time

It was like going back in time (in a good way) in this apartment. It has the charm of being old, but the comfort of modern amenities. We were able to walk from the train station in about 30 minutes, but the walk was so interesting, the time flew by. The person who met us to check us in (Andrea) was amazing. After getting us settled, he walked us to a nearby restaurant for the best pizza we had the whole trip. I later messaged him for a gelato suggestion & he responded within minutes with another great recommendation. I really can’t recommend this place enough!
