Great stay! Would recommend
"We had a fantastic time at Alunan and really glad we booked here for half our stay on the Perhentian.
Room - Spacious and very clean, having the deck upstairs is also a really nice touch
Food - Probably the best food we ate on the Perhentian islands, both western and Malay options availabl. It is slightly more expensive but worth it in our opinion. Breakfast with the room was also great, fresh roti canai were really nice.
Staff - super welcoming and friendly, especially Cel, who really made sure we were looked after the entire stay.
Facilities - great quiet location, with snorkelling right off the beach, easy access to hiking path and other trips. Only hotel with an infinity pool on the island too, which we used to cool off at the end of each day!"

Great Budget Hotel
"I had a great stay here. Initially, I was a bit hesitant to book this place due to previous reviews. But honestly, for a budget hotel it was great, and I would book again. The location was perfect, on the quieter side of the beach, but easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and bars on the other side of the beach. The food was better than expected, and have no complaints about that. The chef even came out a few times to make sure everything was ok. The room facilities were good. Air conditioning, Wi-Fi, and comfortable bed is all I needed. My only issue was that they need sheets underneath the blankets as the blankets themselves tend to be a bit itchy. The service at the reception was good. They even let us check in early. My only issue is that checkout was at 10am, which seems a bit too early, given that most places have check out at noon. They did let us check out at 11am though, but I would prefer not to ask. Overall, it’s a great budget hotel, and if you remember that you are not going to a place with fancy amenities than your stay will be good."

Would never come again
"Very poorly maintained. Dirty room, even the parking area was dirty and not maintained well. Room was not up to par. Toiletries provided were too little. Rooms were very smelly and AC not working well. Not worth the money. Such a disgrace to Terengganu tourism. Please never come here 👎"

"This property is located in a beautiful spot especially since the lodges are on a hill with amazing views. But the upkeep of the lodges is poor. Simple things such as the bathroom sink with black mould & the tiles oozing fugul are not necessary.
Maybe cause we visited mid October when everything started to close down?
The staff are accommodating but don’t give many choices due to their not being any when getting around the island. If your on this side & have not prearranged bout trips your stuck on 1 beach with little options.
Also getting a scooter is a waste of time as there is only the road leading to the jeti no other roads unless you trek through the woodland which takes nearly 2 hours. There is wild life in the jungle so at your own risk unless you hire a guide. Also make sure you use bug repellent & bug relief because you will be eaten alive.
No real English breakfast except at the hotel if they have it. Again it was end of season. "

"Expensive room that doesn’t provide more than 2 bottles of water a day despite hot weather and price paid for the room. Our room was on the bend of the building so we felt a little squished as the balcony is smaller than other rooms.
Bed was comfortable and wifi very strong and fast. Decent buffet breakfast, but very hectic trying to get tea/coffee/juice as one person doing all those whilst guests waited in small area.
Beach lounges good and relaxing - included nightly cocktail and canapé great feature. Close to jetty also good.
There are lots of cheaper eating options along the beach a short stroll away.
Also, hot tip is to get the speed boats for hire rather than Bubu’s own speed boat and they are much cheaper and a similar boat style. Only limitation is they only leave the island at 8am, 12pm, and 4pm. So, if you need to travel outside these times, might need to pay more for Bubu’s transfer as they have. Little more flexibility on when they leave, but do need minimum numbers.
The resort is right on the main beach so there is a good buzz and vibe if that is what you are after. If you want something more relaxing or quiet, perhaps pick your accommodation away from Long Beach."

"Very nice hotel, and the best hotels in Malaysia ever. Professional people, many activities, good facilities, beautiful and convenient beach, But need to improve the dining level."
