"I’m giving this hotel 2 stars mainly because of the cleanliness and the overall condition of both the hotel and the room, which felt quite run-down and in need of maintenance. On the positive side, the staff were kind and helpful, and the location is definitely a strong point. However, considering the price we paid (over €100 per night, almost 500 MYR), I don’t feel it offers good value for money. For that reason, I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless improvements are made."

"I really liked Arwana and would stay here again. It’s literally right on the beach. The water is crystal clear and baby reef sharks swim around happily. Perhentian doesn’t have any roads so the hotel can arrange water taxis. We did the Redang island trip and the snorkelling trip, both arranged by Arwana and they were both excellent. "We had a wonderful five-night stay at the resort. The staff truly go above and beyond to make your stay memorable, and we felt so well looked after throughout our visit. It was the perfect balance of relaxation and exploring the island. Our room was clean, spacious and very comfortable, making it a lovely place to come back to after a day out. We would absolutely love to return and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend the resort to our family and friends. Thank you for such a memorable stay!"

"We are a family of 4 with 2 children aged 8 and 11, and stayed for 6 nights August 2026. We found this to be a very friendly, clean and comfortable place to stay, with an excellent location right on the beach, with all the long beach amenities easily accessible. The breakfast buffet is good. We did 3 snorkelling trips with Mimpi which were well organised and good. Our room had a lovely view across long beach. The private transfer from Kota Bharu airport to Mimpi and back again was well worth the money, well organised and we were grateful for them managing our luggage. Overall definitely recommend Mimpi as a place to stay."

"I feel this place has had some unfair and harsh reviews in the past. I can of course only base my review on our experience with the room we booked, a triple room with AC. Yes it is a bit of a walk from the long beach jetty and there is a bit of a broken up path with a small incline to the reception but from coral beach the hill is steep. We were greeted at reception by a friendly host and a bottle of water. We found our room to be clean and as the pictures stated, we had a fan and air conditioning and the room was quickly cooled after a hot walk. Our room was unfortunately at the top of another hill but can't be helped given the landscape of the property. The bathroom was acceptable the shower could have been slightly better as it didn't have much pressure but was enough to wash. There was no wifi in the room and the mobile reception is minor and patchy at best but this IS a remote island paradise. If you need entertainment in your room you'd be best to download a series or two but generally browsing internet and social media just about worked on mobile data. The property is a short and fairly easy walk from long beach and its restaurants, shops & bars about 5 mins. It's also a 5-10 minute walk from coral beach which is great for watching sunset but the steep hill is short but sweaty. I think the price of this room is more on the expensive side for basic accommodation but the AC is worth the upgrade as the jungle island is hot & humid. All in all we were happy with the stay"
