Southend Hotels, Atlantic City

"I chose this hotel because of the reviews describing it as family-friendly, and I brought my three kids with me. We upgraded to one of the newer Solana Tower rooms, which was nice overall—but the windows were incredibly dirty, to the point where you could barely see outside. We did see some families with children around the property, so it seems like others do choose this hotel for that purpose. However, navigating the hotel was challenging—it felt like a maze just trying to get to the main area (“The Quarter”) where most of the shops and restaurants are located. There is an arcade that my kids enjoyed, which was a plus. Carmine’s is also inside the hotel, though we didn’t end up dining there. That said, there really aren’t many entertainment or dining options beyond gambling. The experience became especially concerning on our last morning. A visibly intoxicated man was wandering the hallways, going up to guest room doors—including ours—yelling and cursing. This made both me and my children feel unsafe. We had planned to leave our bags in the car and return to relax in the room until our late checkout, but after that incident, we no longer felt comfortable staying and decided to leave the property early. Overall, I would say this hotel may be fine for adults who are primarily there to gamble. However, I would not recommend it for families, as the environment and safety concerns did not meet our expectations. I would not return."

"The hotel room was extremely clean! Staff greeted with respect. The check in and check out process were seamless. The valet team were all hands on deck. Every staff person was positive, professional& helpful. The gift store was an intentional concept fully stocked with unique and needed items. Great hotel. My 15th year using this property. "

"I showed promptly for 4pm check in. I didnt get a ro9m for an hour. They kept telling my room was being cleaned as I stood there watching guest after guest over that hour get a room and check in. Every time I inquired the front desk seemed un interested in helping for givinge another room . Obviously based off all the other check ins there were rooms ready they coupd have offerd. The room was great. Loved the balcony and spacious room. "

"All was wonderful. A little surprised we paid a little more for our two stay the. Expedia has quoted. I’m assuming that’s because we didn’t pay in full? That should be made clearer! No problem with The Borgata. Just expedias explanation of cost. Live and learn"
