"We loved our stay at this Maltese Townhouse. The views from the balcony are fantastic, and it is in a great location. We appreciated the unique layout with the stone spiral stairs. (We are able bodied, so this may be a challenge for folks who may have something that prevents them from going up stairs.) The communication was efficient and responsive. This place also offers an airport transfer that we found easy and helpful. We'll stay here agian! "

"Stunning property. Beautifully renovated. Everything is quality and high end. Well equipped kitchen. Comfortable beds, beautiful showers. Fabulous views. A very short walk to the ferry and some GREAT restaurants and coffee shops. Easy access to the waterfront for a stroll or a run. Lisa is an exceptional host. Has thought of everything including an elevator. By far the best VRBO property I've ever stayed in. You will not be disappointed. "

Grand Hotel Excelsior

"The location is amazing being close to the centre of Valetta. Facilities, especially the pool area on the harbour side, was brilliant. The restaurant Tiki, on the harbour side served fantastic lunches. Generally the public areas were exactly what you would expect of a 5 star hotel. Massive ticks on all these points. But there is a downside which may or may not impact your enjoyment. The bedrooms! Ours was extremely “tired” in need of refurbishmeant. No electric points at all beside the bed meaning charging your phone a long way away from the bed. Apart from the lobby light the only lights in the room were desk lamps and a standard light that was leaning so much we called it the “leaning light if Valetta”. All of these lights were switched on or off directly on the lamp. Meaning getting out of bed to switch them off. We had a room with a sea view and terrace. Although it was clear in the website pictures there was no privacy between rooms so we really did not use it. Not a complaint but a warning - we should have gone for a room n with a balcony."

"We had a lovely time, location was absolutely great, I definitely recommend staying here, you’re close to the strip where you can find so many bars and restaurants. The staff was lovely and really friendly. Our room was perfect, clean and very cozy. They also have really really good mattresses!!!! If we ever return to Malta, this will definitely be our stay again."

"The hotel was beautiful and it had a lovely fragrance as soon as you entered. The room was amazing, perfect for myself, husband and grown up daughter as she had her own private space. The rooftop pool was absolutely stunning with a fantastic view. We really looked forward to breakfast each morning as there was a very good selection. We also dined in the restaurant twice. The food was excellent, We really enjoyed the Swordfish. The staff were also extremely helpful and very friendly. I would highly recommend this hotel. We loved every moment and I could not fault anything. 😊"

"Very cool property, with a local flair, clean and well maintained. There's a number of steps from the street level to the entrance of the building, and then more to the rooms (no elevators, of course). Nice decorations all-over, with attention to detail, traditional-looking, very clean and appealing. Be mindful when you book, as the meaning of "detached private bathroom" does not disclose that the bathroom is down the hallway. I assume the rooms listed under "private bathroom" have a layout that includes it. Should have checked before making a reservation! Good, clear communication via email/whatsapp prior to check-in, as there is no reception on premise. Attentive and helpful staff, excellent location - you can be close to tourist attractions, restaurants, the ferry, the water promenade, etc. - but safe and quiet at the same time. I would definitely book again, just a different room."

"The reception staff were very polite and friendly. The breakfast was very good . Lots of choice and well stocked at all times. The swimming pool was very clean at all times and the surrounding area was very adequate with some new shade canopies added. The bedrooms were ok. Clean and just served its purpose . Somewhere to sleep and shower. Bit of a mix up when arriving. As I booked for 2 rooms and was told one room was across the road in sister block.As I booked in September I would have thought we would have been together!!!!. Other than that a lovely stay was had by all."

"Arrived at the hotel after hours but that was no problem. We had been sent the key code to enter & our key was left in an envelope with all the room details inside. Very efficient. Room was larger than expected & spotlessly clean. Only complaint was the shower didn't maintain hot water for all of the time. Lovely, secluded location near all the restaurants & the ferry landing to Valletta. Buffet breakfast was exceptional & the 2 staff we met were super friendly & helpful. We could leave our cases in reception til check-out time & there were shower facilities before leaving. Excellent all round!"
