"Very cozy and spacious. It easily sleeps 8 people. The host was very nice and easy to communicate. He would keep us posted with the weather and instructions for the house. He let us check in and out without any time restrictions. The place is just 20 min drive from the dodge ridge ski resort. The place was very tidy and clean with the exception of the fridge and the microwave. I would strongly recommend it to stay. "

Lazy Z Resort

Lazy Z Resort

8/10 Good
"It felt remote and was quiet and peaceful which was exactly what we were seeking out. However…the cottage didn’t feel like a cottage. It was a bit more like a pretty single wide. The interior was well kept and well appointed with the exception of having limited kitchen items (for example a total of 2 forks, limited glassware, very limited coffee pods, etc). There was also very limited towels for both bathroom and kitchen. Be very aware that this is a full sized bed when booking! It worked for us as we aren’t very big people. Just make sure you’re fully aware before booking. Clubhouse, pool, and hot tub were very far from our “cottage”…we stayed in #7. We walked up there once to check it out but it’s not feasible for us to realistically do that any more than that in a weekend. Driving from the cottage to the amenities would be a good option. Pool and hot tub were very pretty and appeared well kept. We did not actually use them given the distance from our cottage."

"We loved this place so much that we stayed an extra night. The NIGHT STAFF (Viri & Christina: great meeting you!) were SO welcoming, personable and accommodating. This hotel isn’t just like any other chain hotel you can get in any city in the US. It has character specific to Sonora and is historic, yet has all the amenities and necessities of a modern hotel. And it’s right on the Main Street so you always have things to do and see. Only minor complaints are housekeeping came in without knocking and there are no ”do not disturb” door signs, and check out is 11am and if you ask to extend it you only get to 11:30. You can stay longer but have to pay $50 to stay until noon and then a full nights stay if you stay any later. But that’s only a problem if you’re a night owl/sleep in late like us. I will absolutely be back again!!"

Charming 4-bedroom house with WiFi and AC in lovely Sonora

10/10 Excellent
"The solid house layout with all of the modern appliances was great. A word of caution that the front door is 41 stair steps up from the driveway (15 of which are more shallow) with no railings, making the climb difficult for our mobility-challenged member. But once inside, we all loved and enjoyed the house."

"My wife and I loved our visit to the Gunn House Hotel. We met Harry who is wonderful and very helpful. And he's quite a good chef for morning breakfast. The room was clean and the air conditioner worked great. We sat outside our room in the evening with our tablets and watched all the cars go by on Washington St. I give an A+ to the staff and Harry for their great hosting. We will be back. Take care for now, Kevin & Debbie."

Sonora Gold Lodge

Sonora Gold Lodge

8/10 Good
"The Sonora Gold Lodge is one of the few remaining independent old fashion motels in the area. It is old, so you expect some quirkiness. The King size bed was new and the flooring was new. So, they have done some upgrades. I really like the fact that I could park my motorcycle right outside my room and it was very quiet. I needed a room for the night because I was in town for two events and did not want to drive the hour home between. I was looking for the most affordable room in town. The Sonora Gold Lodge was exactly what I needed. I caution you though, if you are looking for a modern, high-end place to stay this is not it. If you are looking for a clean bed and shower that is a bit retro and quirky this is perfect."
