"Cottage was immaculate on arrival, smelt lovely with air fresheners, something you dont get with most cottages. Bedroom on ground floor was very spacious with lots of storage space and coat hangers! Again, spotless and clean, bed was really comfyEn-suite was very modern. Cupboard in hallway for coats, also basket for shoes was a good idea. First floor lead to living area and kitchen. Kitchen very modern, full size fridge/freezer. Kitchen had everything you needed including washing up liquid, brand new dish cloth with sponge and pot towel!!. Welcome pack of teas/coffee and prosecco was a nice touch. Living room was lovely and spacious, very clean, had a homely feel to it. There was a room off the kitchen which had a couple of chairs, organ/piano and writing desk. This room could easily be made into a second bedroom which I think would be perfect, my elderly father would love it here!Parking outside was ample for one car. You were not overlooked at all. Unfortunately we didn't see any wildlife but we did hear an owl in the evening. The wheatsheaf pub is less than a 5 min walk away and serves delicious food. Location is quite central for visiting other areas, windermere, kendal and keswick are lovely towns.This is probably the nicest cottage we've ever stayed in and will definitely return."

"This was a great stay. Highly highly recommend. Staff was excellent. Room is beautiful in a classic quaint way. Felt like the perfect classic Inn experience. We had dinner there. Food was amazing. Atmosphere was a mixture of locals and travelers. Relaxed and welcoming. Breakfast was served, made to order in the same restaurant and was excellent. Great area. Quiet but close to several things. Walking trail across the street allowed us some activity after dinner to a beautiful view if the valley and town. We only wished we had booked it for longer. It was our favorite stay of our 2 week trip. Of note, you check in at the bar. There's an entrance around back or in the front. Just know, there's not a separate check in and you're in the right place."

"It was a pleasure staying here, and I would definitely come back. The place was exceptionally clean—honestly one of the cleanest I’ve ever stayed in. The only downsides were the pillows and the bed. The pillows were too firm and thick, and the bed wasn’t very comfortable. Overall, a lovely place to stay, and I would definitely recommend it to others!"

"Apartment was spotless, for a central location it was incredibly peaceful. The overall appearance is beginning to look a little shabby, and all needs a little TLC. Toilet flush broken...main bed very wobbly."
