Techies, rejoice! Oh, and if you’re a foodie, kayaker or history buff, you can join in the chorus, too, because South Lake Union has it all.

It’s not the biggest, land-wise, but the South Lake Union neighbourhood packs a serious punch. Amazon, the online U.S. shopping giant, has its headquarters in South Lake Union, and the ‘hood has evolved to meet the energetic techies’ needs. In addition to heaps of restaurants, pubs and shops to keep you busy, you can pop into the Museum of History and Industry or rent a boat from the Centre for Wooden Boats and spend some time paddling across Lake Union.
