Dear Daniel, we are sorry that your stay at Belmont House Beer did not meet with your expectations. Given your comments, we believe that you may have us confused with the Belmont Hotel in nearby Sidmouth. This is indeed a four star Hotel with all the amenities that you would expect from a Hotel including a lift. Our web description clearly states that we are a Village Guest House and to assist clients in their selection process we include all room dimensions with numerous photos, as we completely understand that the quirkiness of our property whilst loved by many, is not for everyone. We are Belmont House , Beer. Adult Only, Free Parking and Sorry , but No Pets.

Dear Terrace Thank you for taking the time to provide us with your review. It is appreciated and allows us to give and explanation of the points that you have made. We state very clearly on all advertising platforms that we do not offer breakfast. We are Room Only accommodation. Check in times are between 4pm and 6pm, but we understand that it is not always possible to arrive during these times. When rooms are ready it is our policy to advise our guests by telephone and text. As we are not a hotel and manned 24hrs, we explain that keys will be left in an envelope for guests if we aren’t available. During these difficult COVID times we have found that our guests appreciate less contact unless of course needed when we are contactable 24/7 by phone. Unfortunately, we have experienced mis use of the ‘free’ parking permits we provide. Guests have not returned them on check-out, leaving us unable to pass on to the arriving guests until it’s been retrieved or replaced at considerable cost to us. Room dimensions are clearly stated on accommodation details along with photographs. We are a 200 year old cottage and as such have utilised the space to the best of our ability. Room prices vary depending on the booking platform selected. Direct always offers preferential rates. On reflection however, perhaps a 24 hour serviced hotel would have better suited your particular requirements.
