"Location of hotel for exploring Edinburgh is excellent and public transport to / from the Airport & further afield is excellent & easy to access. We were first time visitors & used the Airlink bus. All the hotel staff were so friendly & could not have been more helpful. The food we had, including room service one evening, was reasonably priced and delicious There is also a good selection of pubs, restaurants, shops etc including the Royal Mile, just a few steps from the hotel. The room & bathroom was very quiet, spacious and comfortable and whilst it was clean it is starting to show signs of wear. If returning to Edinburgh we would definitely book this hotel again."

"Our room was amazing, full of character. Bed was super comfy slept very well. The rooms on the first floor for guests were wonderful our favourite being the library. All the staff were lovely. We ate in every night and the food was delicious very good portions. Would highly recommend a stay. "

"Fantastic 2nd honeymoon dinner in the Dungeon!!!! Took a great hike around the property the next day, with a visit to the falcon habitat. The Falcon caretaker was very friendly and knowledgeable. Having never seen a falcon up close, it was a real unexpected treat."

"Email on the day of stay to say that the hotel was only open 8-12 in the morning and that my room key was in the door to my room. Didn’t even know where to find my room! Then the key wouldn’t come out the door, rang the emergency number and yes, someone did come to help. No restaurant open or bar and for a loan female travelling, it wasn’t a pleasant experience at all. Radiator in the bathroom didn’t work so the whole room was freezing. Had to stand in a towel as the floor tiles were really cold. On checkout, no “how was your stay”, just paid my bill and left. Won’t be staying there again. £90 for a bed!"

"The Hotel is an apartment hotel, they have a WhatsApp but they communicate via email so it is super inconvenient. I suggest they communicate via WhatsApp it is more efficient. I met the owner, not a very nice and accommodating guy for someone who owns a hotel and works in hospitality. Hotel is located far from the city itself but a bus ride away, overall clean rooms and bathroom, you cannot store your luggage unlike other hotels, if I am back in Edinburgh, I will NOT STAY AT THIS PLACE AGAIN. There are better hotels out there. "

"Chestnut cottage is a lovely cosy cottage with everything you need. The location on the Arniston Estate means you wake up to peace and quiet and wonderful view from the living room. Staying there was wonderful and despite its rural location is also really convenient for supplies and access to Edinburgh. I could quite easily have never left. Henrietta is a wonderful host and the cottage is a credit to the estate. I will definitely be back!"
