"Overall we enjoyed our stay, the location was decent and easy walk to many sights. Cleanliness could be improved but it was a good value for the money."

"Our experience was quite mixed. One major issue was the entrance and stairwell, which were very narrow and not mentioned in the listing. As someone who is 6 feet tall, I actually hit my head while using the stairs. The staircase is steep and tight, making it especially difficult and unsafe when carrying luggage or travelling with children. In our view, this property is not child-friendly at all. The condition of the stairs also raised serious safety concerns. In the event of a fire, it would be extremely challenging to evacuate quickly, particularly with kids. This is something that should be carefully considered. The backyard area was not clean, and inside the flat there was an unpleasant smell. We also noticed small fly-like insects coming out from the wooden flooring, which was quite off-putting. Additionally, there was no proper lighting over the dining area, which made it inconvenient. The toilet and shower facilities also need improvement. The hand shower was not working, and there was no extractor fan in the toilet, which made ventilation poor and uncomfortable. On the positive side, the beds were clean and there were enough towels provided. Communication from the host was also good and responsive. Overall, while the property might be manageable for adults travelling without children, we would not recommend it for families due to safety and comfort concerns."

"Room was big enough and tired looking, but clean. The towels were tatty. It would have been better with a hand towel and bath mat. On arrival you have to go across the road for reception. Room was up 2 flights of stairs, no lift."

"The accommodation was very clean and quite large. Full laundry and kitchen facilities if needed in a quite neighborhood within walking distance of everything. We quite enjoyed our stay and next time in Lisboa this will be on our list of places to stay."

"The location of Travessa I is incredible. Alfama was our favorite neighborhood within Lisbon. There were incredible restaurants within easy walking distance, good access to public transportation (the blue line Metro) and great sites to see nearby.When you stay in a such a great location in a major metro area, we understand that you may have to accept some trade-offs, but we were disappointed in the apartment overall.The biggest issue was that it smelled musty, like mildew or mold. While Paula was very responsive and had an air purifier brought in, it only partially mitigated the issue.Maybe we didn't read the reviews well initially, but as a note to those over 5'6" in height, the upstairs is very difficult to manage. I'm 6'-0", and my head would hit the ceiling if I stood up straight. There were several lower hanging beams, and while they are well marked, they are still treacherous. Both my wife and I hit our heads (whether it was dark at night or we were groggy in the morning). I'd also note that the furniture, including beds, were very uncomfortable and felt cheap. On that front, it seems like they did the bare minimum to turn this into a short-term rental.On the bright side, Paula was very responsive and accommodating, which is always much appreciated.Overall, I'd just say be aware of the trade-offs if considering this apartment."

"Die Unterkunft in Alfama war super und alles war wie beschrieben. Besonders möchten wir uns dafür bedanken, dass der Check In und Check Out so angenehm waren. Silvia hat uns noch um 23 Uhr in den Nacht empfangen und wir durften am Abreisetag 30 Minuten später als angegeben auschecken. "

"I feel like you can pay maybe $20-30 cad more to be in the prime location as this is a bit far out. I'm sure there's public transport but I ubered for convenience, so the location wasn't super duper central. Zerooooo sound proofing at all. I can hear everything. I didn't have to wait for a washroom but the flush wasn't great. I also had a single room... And the single room is located right up the stairs (meaning no extra set of doors). Someone (probably just someone thinking it was their room after a late night ) kept attempting to open the door with their keys. It's not the safest when there is no reception (at night) and no dividing gate door. It's fine if youre a heavy sleeper and just using the place to sleep, but yea the sound is sooooo transparent. "
