"A well appointed and cozy place to stay! We stayed as a family of 4. The location is nice and easy to walk to the beach and local restaurants. Would highly recommend!! "
"Great location for exploring santa barbara. Car parking on site. The room we stayed in could do with refurbishing, but was fine overall.
Great breakfast selection and super friendly staff on the desk.
Glad we stayed here instead of a 'cheaper' hotel further away from downtown. "
"The Franciscan was such a charming stay. It was located centrally in the west beach area so it was easy to walk to The Funk Zone, the water, and along State St.
We stayed in a deluxe king bed room and it was spacious, clean, and had a fridge and microwave which we needed for all of our leftovers from the weekend. The staff were friendly and we could have even borrowed the bikes on the property to bike around the city. I would definitely recommend staying here! "
"Room was clean with nice beds and two sitting areas. Shower was great! Had a rain shower and regular shower head. Breakfast was good with fresh local baked pastries."
"This was a perfect stay, in a perfect location, and with perfectly appointed rooms.
The personnel were friendly, informative and professional. The Front Desk staff were lovely, the housekeeping personnel discreet, and the maintenance team members were always gracious when we encountered them.
The pool was available for use until mid-evening, and an option to access the amenities at Las Brisas, a sister facility across the road, was also extended.
The Inn is placed conveniently to allow walks along the waterfront, and to so many restaurant and coffee locations (do book at least a day ahead if you want to enjoy a few of the best food spots). The close location to Santa Barbara highways allows easy access to The Mission, the Rose Garden, Solvang, the Ostrich Farm, and The Botanical Garden.
The morning continental breakfast is plentiful should you wish to eat light before setting off for the day. The evening cheese and wine was a great "in between" after touring for the day and setting off for dinner.
Our stay was so comfortable. Thank you for our gifts of a bottle of sparkling wine. Should we travel back to Santa Barbara, we will definitely return to the Lavender Inn by the Sea.
(I loved that Jimmy Cricket and his brother came to visit. I happily sent them off to play under the tree outside my room. Sadly, others seemed a little more perturbed by their visit!😉)"
