The property was well located. Very spacious room with a large bedroom. Everything was great, But unfortunately my partner and I had to kill some cockroaches in the bathroom. Not sure if this was not cleaned properly or no bug killer enough sprayed around, windows were all opened when we arrived, so not sure where it came from or if it was already there.

I liked the cleanliness,quiet and comfortable bed.Some rooms are nicer than others but a pleasant stay. Staff generally helpful,with lots of information.

It was great to stay in the old section of the hostel and see the history there. Overall, appreciated the cleanliness of the bathrooms and rooms.

Staff is always friendly, also 24 hours is a plus. The breakfast in the morning is cheap and the perfect start to your day!! Walking distance to downtown for shopping, food, museums and transportation is in abundance.

Great place in San José
It's a simple and cozy place. Great service, I get way earlier than expected and they allowed me to early check-in. Staff has great service and it has good restaurants for breakfast and lunch nearby. I will totally get back and I recommend the place wholeheartedly

Loved the available coffee and the breakfast was great. The gate to the front entrance was very squeaky and slammed shut throughout the night making sleep very difficult. I'm sure this was due to inconsiderate guests, but there is a definite party atmosphere with the Backpackers Hostel right across the street. Not ideal for folks who prefer quiet.

Great option for a stopover!
Even though I only stayed at Costa Rica Guesthouse for one night, it was a lovely experience and exceeded my expectations. I had one of the private rooms — it was very simple, nothing fancy at all, but it was perfect for my needs and even had access to a little outdoor patio space. Also, everyone there was very friendly and helpful. I'd absolutely recommend this place for quick stopovers in San José!

Beautiful old guest house.
Beautiful old building, very clean. Screen was ripped with big hole that allows mosquitoes in. We got bitten. Desk clerk at checkin was amazing.

Older hostel-like guest house. Good social, great staff. Felt very safe. One of two beds not so comfortable, no screens on windows but no mosquito bites, so idk if needed. Great deal for the price and would stay again.

Trevligt ställe med skön (hård) säng. Bra temperatur i rummet. Ligger ganska centralt, så promenaden till bussterminalen på utcheckningsdagen var kort. Spenderade bara en natt här, men kan rekommenderas för en övernattning

We love staying here. Most rooms are quiet (best to be over the car park as the street is noisy). High ceilings, big windows and plain furnishings. The staff are helpful and everything is straightforward.

I met the owner two nights before my check out. An old , aggressive, racist and misogynist man. I canceled my last night because I felt unsafe around him. If you’re a woman traveling by yourself, please avoid a bad moment and stay away from this slum.
