"Great place to stay"

"Excellent location with great views if booking a room with sea view. Very pleasant staff. On site parking. Dog friendly but the additional charge double that of most other hotels. Unfortunately no restaurant available this visit and only a basic continental breakfast with tea and coffee in hot water jugs ( a pet hate of mine) so disappointing. "

"Room was very spacious and comfortable. We ate at the hotel every night of our stay, the food was top notch and all the staff were friendly and attentive. Couldn’t ask for better. Highly recommended "

"Had a very nice 2-night stay at Loch Long Hotel with my daughter and grandson. On arrival the reception area is very bright, modern and welcoming. The man on reception is extremely polite. After reading some really negative reviews I wasn't expecting much but was more than pleasantly surprised by how nice it actually is. We stayed in the family room, which is small but adequately eqipped with a double and single bed and bath. The room was lovely and warm,bedding was very clean and the hot water was perfect. Plenty tea/coffee and toiletries. I used the free hot tub and sauna which was fantastic. The food was superb at each meal for all three of us. Considering that this is a budget hotel with a budget price it gave excellent value for money. Entertainment in the lounge was also excellent. We will definitely return here "

"Property is in need of a little TLC. Bathroom tiles cracked and dirty. Oven knobs missing, door wobbly and pictures to show which ring etc rubbed off, pot lid handles cracked, glass light shades cracked/broken. Many walls have been filled with filler but not painted. However this did not take away from our break with family. "

"Friendly and welcoming staff to this impressive building. The location, room, decor and breakfast were all huge positives. Strong smells from the kitchen did linger in the dining and lounge area. The placement of our room meant that we needed to travel through the dining room on Valentine’s evening with our belongings, which possibly affected the mood for others and felt uncomfortable. Unfortunately in the bedroom, we could hear the rooms around us including bathroom sounds. The bed was uncomfortable. "

"Arrived to find that they had finished serving food (disappointing but understandable as I arrived at about 9pm) The bar was not open however which was quite disappointing. Upon arrival I was asked what time I would like breakfast, however breakfast was not available at 7am as I had said (and been told was okay) nor was it available at 7:30 when breakfast was advertised to start at. There were no staff present to query on this. As i had to be away to get to work on time I had to leave without breakfast which I had paid for and had to make do buying snacks from the petrol station down the road. The availability of breakfast and the bar were the main reasons for booking this hotel which was more expensive than my other options. In hindsight I should have taken my custom elsewhere."
