"Only problem is they don’t serve dinner, but there are walkable options. Nice pool and spa but gym is very basic and in need of an upgrade. Rooms are really nice. "

"My stay here was extremely pleasant. My room was comfortable, spacious and kept spotlessly clean. Breakfast was super - my choice was usually juice, coffee (good coffee!), fresh bread with homemade jams and eggs in various ways. The owners and all the staff are friendly and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. The premises are also well situated- quick access from main roads when arriving/departing, quiet, and within easy walking distance from central Stellenbosch.
Overall, I could not have made a better choice and would definitely return here. "

10/10 Excellent
"A lovely room with modern, interesting decor. Everything needed was provided e.g. teas, coffees etc.
Reception was incredibly helpful and couldn't do enough for you
Breakfast was incredible! All ordered from a menu, but a very wide range of choices, and the ability to have whatever you'd like (French toast is to die for!)
Location is brilliant as well - a seven minute walk to all the main restaurants in town!
The only complaint is their strict cancellations policy. We had to reshuffle our whole holiday by three days due to my husband's work, and this was the only hotel out of seven across Cape Town and the Garden Route that didn't refund us at all, despite weeks of notice. This was a shame, but the hotel is lovely nonetheless. "
"My husband and I stayed for 3 nights at Coopmanhuijs while in Stellenbosch. It was fantastic! The staff was super friendly and acommodating. The restaurant was outstanding. Our reservation included breakfast and we were able to order off of a menu and/or opt for the generous buffet. We also ate dinner at the restuarant and it was beyond delicious. (Springbok carpaccio!) We don't usually relax in common hotel spaces, but everyone was so welcoming that we did spend some time in the lounge by the fire. We met some other guests who were super interesting, and I felt like I learned a lot about South Africa culture as well. Thank you for a lovely stay!"
"A beautiful hotel with lots of local character. Staff were so friendly and helpful, delicious breakfast. Very close to the cafes and shops of Stellenbosch and felt very safe, which was important to me as a solo female traveller."
"The kitchen had this terrible stench - turned out the kitchen sink tubes were leaking odours into the kitchen. Although it was “my kitchen” people helped themselves to stuff. Bedroom was very basic, dated furniture, etc. it was cheap but yeah - I guess one gets what one pays for. And one more thing - when I got there at the main address (there are two guesthouses) nobody opened the gate for some time. I had to get the help of another tourist and when I finally made it to reception the excuses were very poor. "
