"The apartment was spacious which was very nice and a short walk to the grocery store. We were only there for two nights as a stop over to our next destination. "Beautiful spot, but difficult to access without a rental car. We were travelling on foot/train/bus and we had to rely solely on the 2 or 3 taxis in the township. The walk was ok downhill, but very arduous going back (We're in our 70's). We chose Varenna as it much more affordable than Ballagio, and the views are simply breathtaking. With a car, this would have been perfect, but we also found that the locals were very accommodating and actually took us home in their own vehicles a few...

"Enrico truly is the perfect host: attentive, helpful and generous with his homegrown fruits and vegetables. He also gave us valuable tips on best ways to explore the area. Great to be able to park just outside, inside the gated garden. Enrico also helped us park our bikes in the garage which was greatly appriciated. "Apartment was as advertised. Just an FYI, the stairs to get to the upstairs bedrooms are very steep. Very nice apartment. Would stay there again if we go back. "

It was advertised as having AC, but only had one weak portable unit that couldn’t cool the home below 27C (80F), making it unsafe for our newborn who was overheating and crying nonstop. On top of that, we were warned not to use multiple electrical devices at once or risk losing power—making it impossible to use fans or cool the space.Worse, the water heater vented directly into the kitchen, filling the home with gas whenever hot water was used. "We booked a double room & private bathroom, toiletries, laundry , air conditioning & coffee making facilities. We had to share a bathroom with 2 other apartments , a sofa bed vs a double bed & there were no toiletries & actually no toilet roll, a fan & no air conditioning & no laundry facilities .we also had an issue checking in , initially they had no record of our booking & told us it had been through Expedia ?? We tried to escalate to Hotels.com but they don’t read the emails properly ! "
