"My friend and I had a girlie two night break at this hotel and loved it. When we arrived the receptionist noticed I was using a walking aid and unprompted started looking to change our room to an accessible room eliminating needing to use stairs. We were very touched by his thoughtfulness. It was an upgrade to a suite which was outstanding and it really enhanced our comfort and experience. We had a sitting room (with verandah) which was very comfortable and well equipped with a coffee maker, selection of high quality teas. There was a large bathroom and a super king size bed. Breakfast was nice, not outstanding but nice. The swimming pool was the big treat. Beautifully warm and the highlight of the stay. All the staff were very cheerful and friendly. This hotel is special and situated next to the Market Square which had lovely coffee shops, quaint shops and enticing pubs. Can’t wait to go back so thank you to all the staff especially Ali xxxxxx"

"The cottage is in such a good location in Helmsley. We were there for a big family get together and having the dining room with the large table was ideal to host family members staying elsewhere. Lovely spacious and clean rooms with excellent views of the church. Amanda was very helpful."

"The location in Helmsley was really convenient particularly the footpath just behind the house which came out at the market place in a liitle over five minutes. There are plenty of excellent cafes and independant shops in the centre of town together with a reasonable choice of pubs and restaurants.Hemlsley itself is ideally placed for visiting National Trust and English Heritage properties as well as trips to the coast. We found that a drive to Thirsk to catch the train into York was a stress-free way to visit the city.We would certainly recommend 'The Garth' ."
