"We had a lovely overnight stay on a Sunday evening. The staff were nice and we were given a free upgrade to a Privilege room which was very big and quiet. After a morning swim, I enjoyed a tasty breakfast from the buffet. The only negatives were that the plug in the bathroom didn't work and the decor was a bit tired. However, this is to be expected with older buildings to some degree. There are also beautiful rooms in the old manor such as the library and lots of places to sit in the main...

"Very friendly welcome and a lovely room. The staff were so helpful and the cooked breakfasts were excellent. But the DJ night didn't finish at 11 as the in-room message said it would (midnight, then bar noise for another while) ; the fire alarm went off the next night (quickly cancelled so clearly accidentally) but then you could hear furniture being moved around in the bar/cafe in the small hours... I guess for cleaning. I'd recommend taking earplugs. "

"The welcome at reception was very nice, because we were on an overnight stop, we just want a sleepover. The room very basic, and bathroom left a lot to be desired, just enough toilet roll for 2 visits!! Towel rail hanging off the wall, an over bath shower that just wet the whole floor. 4 star facilities definitely not, would I return definitely not and I would not recommend. We didn’t bother with breakfast just got in the car and carried on with our trip,"
