"Amazing"

"I traveled here with my husband and 10 month old daughter. This was an amazing family friendly resort, they provided a crib and high chair in our room. The food was amazing, and the service was great. Our only complaint was that we booked the all inclusive package, but after every drink, and every meal, we were asked to sign a tab, where the staff would ask for a tip and automatically have the machine at 20%. If you didn’t tip, they remembered for the next time. The point of an all inclusive trip is to not have to sign for every drink / meal you get and you shouldn’t be expected to tip on every single order - we already paid. Additionally, the 20% was 20% of what it would have cost if we weren’t all inclusive, as you can imagine that 20% adds up extremely fast. I like to tip in cash, and we are good tippers - but it was off putting and awkward being asked to tip after every single drink and meal - I have never been to a resort like this. It also made us not want to to go to certain restaurants and bars because those staff members made it awkward if we didn’t tip 20% like it was expected - when we already paid the all inclusive fee. If this were to be fixed, this would have been the perfect resort! "

What we loved most is that the resort never felt crowded. There was always space. Space to relax, space to breathe, space to actually disconnect. The service is what makes the experience come alive. It is not just that it is top notch, it is that it feels real. At El Mar, Victor made every meal feel like something to look forward to. The setting, the ocean, the pace of the service, it all comes together in a way that makes you want to stay a little longer. We had the pleasure of having Alfonso as our waiter at both El Mar and Lupita, and he was outstanding. Attentive, funny, and engaging in a way that never felt forced. The kind of person who reads the table perfectly and makes the experience feel personal. By the pool, Elvis was incredible. He is out there all day in the sun, moving constantly, checking in on guests, delivering drinks, keeping things flowing, and somehow doing it"

"The property is beautiful. The staff amazing. Food was delicious. Our issues with this stay were all our room. The most uncomfortable bed I have ever slept in. Hard as a rock! If you have a bad back like I do, be warned. Our room fridge was never stocked the whole week we were there and when we tried to order items by room service, they never showed up. We travel to Mexico so twice a year. All though this was a nice trip, this particular resort will not make the repeat visit list."
