"My new wife and I went to Cozumel Palace for our honeymoon in June of 2026, and overall we had a good experience. The reason why I can't give the resort 5 stars is because of the aggressive timeshare pitch ("vacation club" seems to be the latest euphemism for this) in the lobby that you're required to aggressively rebut right after checking in when you're exhausted from traveling, and there's a more gentle timeshare pitch at the very end that left us with a bad taste in our mouths. The aggressive timeshare salespeople are by far the worst thing about traveling to Mexico and we may not go back because of it; most American travelers HATE aggressive timeshare pitches! However, the pros far outweigh the cons at Cozumel Palace. We wanted a small, relaxing resort with good food and a great view and that's what we got, so we're happy we went there for our honeymoon. They gave us lots of honeymoon perks and we used the resort credits on a romantic beach surf & turf dinner with an excellent violin player. Be warned that this is not a party place and it does not have a beach, so if you're looking for those things then Cozumel Palace isn't for you. It was just what we were looking for though."
"Did not like that we had appx 50% of the resort to use since they are in the midst of renovations - fixtures showed wear and tear and didn’t appreciate the rough uneven stones that were used on the walkways (possible tripping hazard)
Also didn’t appreciate being told if we paid an additional $30.00 we could get into our room prior to the posted check in time"

Valentin Imperial Rivera Maya All Inclusive - Adults Only
10/10 Excellent
"Our first time at the Valentin and it did not disappoint. We had a swim up suite and the room was amazing. Huge bathroom and shower. The bar staff at the pool were all great and very attentive. We saw the famous iguana, Kevin, and he’s quite impressive. Beautiful grounds, lots of wildlife and birds. Food was great. It is a little difficult to find the concierge sometimes to make a reservation for the Hibachi restaurant but we just showed up one night and had no problem getting a seat. The spa was really nice, we had a really nice couple’s massage. We also had a beautiful beach dinner on our last night. It was a great vacation and we would definitely go back again."
